Bogosian - 3 years span

In my league, Bogosian is under contract for this season and 2 more after that. I should be able to get him for a player like Andy Greene and a couple of picks. I'm contending this year and I will be contending for the next 2 or three seasons. Is this a move you would do, or will it take Bogosian more than 3 seasons to put it all together? There are some rumors about him getting trade...would that help his production? I would probably help, as he is not stuck behind Byfuglien and Enstrom.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Habs, if you can get Bogo for Greene and some fringe picks, by all means do it. No one can deny that Bogosian has some real nice upside, even though he still hasn't blossomed. If you could land Bogo and have 2 more years worth of evaluation, it could be a homerun move on your part.

To answer your second question, if Bogosian is traded, I could definitely see him reaching his star a lot quicker than if he stays in Atlanta. Say he ends up on a young team like Edmonton, wow.

Even if he stays in Atlanta (which is 95% likely), he is just one injury to Byfuglien or Enstrom away from stepping in and logging some big minutes and PP time. He is a real good player with a wicked slapper. He might not be the next Zdeno Chara, but he could be a 15G/30A guy within a couple years.

But, not only that - but I think that Bufuglien and Enstrom are showing their real colours. DB is what? 1p in his last 14 gp? If he's a 40 pt forward, what makes anyone think he will be a 70pt defenseman in Atlanta? He's coming down to earth, (opponents are figuring him out), and so this opens the door a little bit more for Bogosian me thinks.

I'd make such a move. Worst case scenario given his potential you can likely still flip him for similar value at a later point in the next couple of seasons. Best case scenario he finally takes off and hits that potential, and then you're way ahead in the deal.
