Anderson out for personal reasons

Avalanche goalie Craig Anderson returned to Denver tonight, taking a temporary leave for personal reasons.

Anderson is not hurt, and the team said he will only be gone on a day-to-day basis. Until he returns, though, veteran John Grahame will serve as the Avalanche's backup goalie, to Peter Budaj.

Grahame, along with defenseman Jonas Holos, was recalled from Lake Erie of the American Hockey League.

Budaj was slated to start Friday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, before Anderson's leave was announced.

Grahame, who went to Overland High School, has been on a hot streak of late with the Monsters. Holos was recalled after it was learned today that defenseman Kyle Cumiskey will be sidelined indefinitely with a head injury.

Maybe it's meth. I guess "I suck" is also a decent personal reason.

In all seriousness, I hope everything is cool with him. I'm sure everyone would like to see the Anderson from 2009 again.
