Drop Doan for Salo?

Hey guys,

Sorry had a bit of a break at work, so posting a couple of notes.

So, Doan is in an out of my lineup, usually between Kessel and Regin. Doan is out this week. he is really the only guy I can waive.

My lowest D are Hillen and Gunnarsson, which I am pretty sure Salo will out perform.

Does this move make sense at all?

Dropping Doan for Salo doesn't make any sense. Doan is still a great guy to own and has put up 33 points in his last 37 games. You don't drop a guy like that for a guy like Sami Salo.

If you want Salo then drop either Hamhuis, Gunnarsson, Hillen, Frolov, O'Sullivan, Radulov (he's not coming back) or Regin for him.

Sorry I didn't explain I was looking at dropping only players on their last year of contract.

What you say about Doan is correct though...his minus however, has been troubling for me lately.

Doan's +/- is good - he's only had a two bad games. Nothing to worry about.

I don't know your players contract situations (looks like it doesn't follow their real salaries/cap hits?) but I still wouldn't drop Doan for Salo.

I wanted to strengthen my D core a bit, Hillen is getting me some points lately, but Gunnarson is not even playing, he is in an out of the lineup.

You are correct, they do not follow current contracts, and are specific to the league, I have Gunnarson for 3 years, so he cannot be dropped unless I want to pay for 3 years worth of salary.

Perhaps I will try to get rid of him for a low pick and pickup Salo.

I feel as though Salo will have a decent fantasy lift for the end of the year.
