Impressive read once again. Friedman must have a great memory as I remember seeing this play but to comment on it afterwards is great journalism,
    28. Obviously, there was a lot of talk about the "icing that wasn't" at the end of that game, but another huge play didn't get enough attention: Patrick Marleau dumping the puck into the Vancouver corner about a minute beforehand. Roberto Luongo had already gone to the bench, but Marleau wasn't aware of it. Don't know if the bench failed to yell at him or he didn't hear them or what, but that was an enormous snafu.
He has a way of finding great tidbits of information that appeals to the masses

Agreed, and regarding the play, it's another reason why I'm convinced the Canucks will win it all this year. Of course they have been the best team in the league all year, but that's often just not enough, you have to have bounces go your way and the stars have to align in some sense. That play by Marleau, the ensuing no icing call and game-tying goal, the bounce to Bieksa for the winner, sometimes a team is just destined to win it, this year it's the blue and green.

"Kicking myself for not seeing the connection between Winnipeg, Atlanta and Kevin Cheveldayoff. Current Thrashers who played in AHL Chicago when he ran the team: Ondrej Pavelec, Bryan Little and Zach Bogosian. Also: prospects Paul Postma and Spencer Machacek. That's valuable institutional knowledge."

good news to pavelec, little and bogosian owners!

For anyone that read it when it was first posted, Elliotte just edited the post on Crosby as he didn't feel he got his point across properly. To save you clicking on the article again, here it is:

    18. It is incredibly premature to predict Sidney Crosby's future. Someone who loves hockey as much as he does will do anything and everything possible to make a full recovery for next season. If he doesn't heal, could he retire? Sure, but that would happen to ANYONE with a concussion. That will, however, be the absolute last resort. He's got a whole summer to continue the recovery process. Let's see where we are in September.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

Thanks for posting that re-edited thought 4T2.

After reading the 30 Thoughts, I immediately came here to see if there was any discussion of Crosby "thinking about retiring".

I know Croz has his fans and his detractors, but (obviously) what a huge loss that would be for hockey if ever came down to that.

I don't want mega stars in the sport I love going anywhere!

    Sigh of relief.....nnnnnow......

...if I might add, we are currently dating, and she is quite a handful in the bedroom...

Spent some time in Vancouver... Loved it...Love BC... boy do I ever... but I have to laugh after reading thought #30...

Philly gets the rap for rabid, crazy fans that shove Ranger fans in urinals during intermissions... I have to laugh at that too... and so I NEVER...NEVER wear my colors in opponent's house. Just a rule of thumb I have.

So after Chicago takes Philly out in Game 6 last year and they celebrate right in front of us... the hockey world starts biting finger nails about whether Philly will catch on fire that night... Nothing happened.

Vancouver riots after Timmy T shuts em down... LOL!
