Well it had been up for 10 minutes and I figured if none of you slackers were gonna do it....

.... yes, I am pretty unproductive at work.

    5) What I'll remember about Brian Rafalski: As we approached the one-year anniversary of Sidney Crosby's Golden Goal, how many reporters wanted to do a story? 1,000? Rafalski refused, wanting no part of it. Here's a guy who won three Stanley Cups and two Olympic silver medals. But he was so bothered about being beaten on that one goal he wouldn't discuss it. I admire that, considering there's one thing in my career I'll never get over, either.

    Ooooo, drama.
    I'm ready for the book.

he's upset that Dobber beat him out for that "sexiest hockey writer of the year" award back in '08.

    No 30 is hilarious!

"30) Confirm or deny: The Vancouver Flasher was sitting in her employer's seats that night and her bosses weren't as impressed as the rest of us were."

Right, unless her bosses run a gentleman's establishment, which is entirely within the realm of the possible given the giant smile she had on her face whilst exposing herself to thousands of people (not that I minded...).

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

    Dear Vancouver Flasher,

Word on the street is that you won't be coming around any more. Elliot says your bosses are unhappy and won't be sending you to any more games. While our affair was admittedly brief you left an indelible mark. Like a nipple ring scratching the penalty box glass you change our hockey experience. Although we shall never meet again you will be fondly remembered.

So long, and thanks for the mammaries,
    A Hockey Fan

Another awesome article. That is some serious insight Friedman provides.

Impressive read once again. Friedman must have a great memory as I remember seeing this play but to comment on it afterwards is great journalism,
    28. Obviously, there was a lot of talk about the "icing that wasn't" at the end of that game, but another huge play didn't get enough attention: Patrick Marleau dumping the puck into the Vancouver corner about a minute beforehand. Roberto Luongo had already gone to the bench, but Marleau wasn't aware of it. Don't know if the bench failed to yell at him or he didn't hear them or what, but that was an enormous snafu.
He has a way of finding great tidbits of information that appeals to the masses
