    Default Malkin > Semin & Kane ?

Should I trade my Semin and Patrick Kane for his Malkin and Steve Downie? 8 Team league. This year we keep 6 players, we have 3 more years to go until the pool ends.

Here's the kicker, I've got to give up Heatley, to aquire Semin, in order to trade Semin, so that I can acquire Malkin from a guy who doesn't care for Heatley...

That being said, here's my team as it stands right now. (PS, I'm in dead last)

    Lecavalier, Koivu, Spezza, Bergeron
    Kane, Giroux, Clutterbuck,
    Heatley, Vanek, Hall
    Myers, Visnovsky, Carlson, Goligoski
    Rask, Ward, Pavalec

Or do I do nothing at all.... =o

Yeah I would because your keepers become that much better.
    1. Malkin
    2. Giroux
    3. Hall
    4. Rask
    5. Ward
    6. Koivu (I assume Mikko) or Carlson

So basically, you would be giving up Heatley and Kane to acquire Malkin and Downie? Hmmm. That is interesting. The thing is that you would be VERY weak on the LW and Malkin has not exactly been a world beater lately. I mean looking at it for an average year:

    Malkin - 100 points
    Koivu - 70 points
    Total - 170

    Heatley - 80 points
    Kane - 80 points
    Total - 160

So you pick up 10 points IF it is Mikko. If not, you would be keeping Spezza who has become an annual disappointment. And you would be giving up a LW which are incredibly difficult to replace. I don't think that it is so cut and dry sir. Really, 6 of 1, half dozen of another. If you can do something to upgrade that last keeper over Koivu, then I am totally on board with getting Malkin. Even if it means completely throwing away this season and dealing Koivu, Spezza and Goligoski for an upgrade somewhere else.

Not sure if I have helped at all but good luck sir.

i'd do it. You improve your keepers. But as mentioned below, go to a team thats going for it this year and offer vanek, spezza, koivu-whatever you need to do to get an awesome #6 keeper.
