Backstrom + for Crosby
Is it a buy low season on Backstrom or is it to be expected he continues on a pace as such or will he rebound? Trying to establish fair value for Crosby in a limited keeper. I'm in contention again this year but having crosby out for at least another week has begun to really hurt me.
Such + pieces that could be added would be eriksson, kane, skinner, tavares, carlson and picks. The latter 3 could go to my farm team for next year. Keep 10 + 5 farm (under 100 games played) Thoughts?

If you could get Backstrom, Skinner, Tavares and Carlson for Crosby and another so-so player, I would do it for sure. During the average year, the drop off in points between Crosby and Backstrom should be 15-30 max, and if you could stock your farm with three elite youngters like Skinner, Tavares and Carlson, you would have to make that deal.

I would have to agree with fungchen on this one. it's an awesome package for Crosby and not only does it set you up for the future, it also doesn't hurt your chances this season.
Backstrom is on pace for 65 points, a total he will easily surpass(prob 80 points). So you will be the beneficiary of his greater point totals this season, as well as gaining points from skinner and tavares. Adding in carlson is just a bonus of having a 50+ point defencemen for many years to come(although you made need to wait 2 years for him to come full circle).
Trading Crosby is always tough, but in this trade you gain absolute stud assets, all of which are young and can become cornerstones to your team.
Win - Win situation in which you can't lose.
If it was a dynasty I would pull the trigger on that. Keeping only 10 and 5 farm with my team it makes me hesitant. I wonder what can be worked out
