Well i suppose the only saving grace we've all got is we have the all star weekend to see if he's put on the IR...I'm sure he will be to make room for Salo's eventual return to action. I just hope Yahoo updates right away when it does happen.
As for the Canucks...this blows. He was probably their best all-around defenseman all season. They're going to get Salo back and he's gonna get hit in the nuts again and then they're back to square one.

On Vancouver radio they are saying 6-8 weeks which is likely where that number is coming from (I live in van).

I read 8-10 weeks. That was on rotowire. I don't have a link since I'm on my phone.

FYI - According to Vancouver's site, Edler has been placed on IR. So, I would suspect Yahoo will have him IR'ed by tomorrow morning. They are pretty good about updating IR status once it officially happens.

Now... should I pick up Karlsson or Fowler to replace him...?

Both are quality choices, I would go with Karlsson though.

Just read this article from the Province (vancouver paper)

    http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Th...933/story.html

there is a small part at the very bottom where the writer interviews the doctor who did the surgery on Edler. He is saying around 10 weeks.

    Default Edler...

That sounds like best case scenario, wouldn't be surprised to see him out for the rest of the regular season. I'm sure the main focus for the Canucks is to have him back (no pun intended) healthy for the playoffs.

Even missing 8 weeks that only leaves him 7 games to play in the regular season. You have to think they will ease him back in as well so how good will he be, even if he plays a handful of games.

I have him in one roto league and think I will drop him (pick up Osgood and stash on IR instead). I can't believe I am picking up Osgood......
