Long term in fantasy hockey is 3 year max. I have to think that in 3 year Yandle's upside will be higher then Fowler's. Shortterm it's Yandle all the way.

Whoa, hold on a sec here. First, let me say that I'd take Yandle too BUT I don't think it's that lopsided. While it's almost certain that Yandle will outperform Fowler this and next year, I'm not so sure after that. Let's not forget that Fowler is on pace to outperform Yandle in his rookie year. He could be as good or even better than Yandle in 3-4 years. And Yandle has only been doing great offensively for two months (he was merely good before then) so I'm not yet convinced that he can sustain this pace for an entire season or several. I think there is a little too much hype around Yandle these days, even seeing threads about him vs. Green. No, Yandle is NOT in the same league as Green yet but is certainly on his way there.

Based on what we are witnessing now it has to be Yandle. But that is no slight on Fowler who will not be far behind.

Huge difference looking at there rookies years. Fowler is playing 20+ minutes a night and on the top PP unit. Yandle never had a sniff his first two seasons. Difference is ice time and opportunity.

As I said before Yandle is the easy choice. Proven over prospect any day of the week.

2 weeks ago half the people would've said Fowler...now Yandle unanimously...Ekman-Larsson could hurt Yandle's #'s, Fowler will be very good in his own right, and Fowler is on a far superior top PP unit long term in Anaheim amongst Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan. Yandle is really good and will remain that but I see him more low 50's and I see Fowler the same...Yandle is already there though so I give him a nod over Fowler outright, but if Fowler has a much cheaper tag then I think that's the better investment out of the two

But Fowler looks to be the real deal as well. One GREAT season and a whole message board could sway their opinion.

Granted. But if you look at Yandle's stats from last yeat, he was getting 20+ minutes a game with tons of PP time and he got 41 points. Fowler is on pace to get more than 41 points in his rookie year. Fowler's upside is huge and he could end up being better than Yandle.

Having said that, I agree that Yandle is there now while Fowler is still just a prospect. So yeah, I'd take Yandle too BUT my point was that the difference between the two is not that big, not as big as all the previous posts were saying.
