I know Nolan Patrick isn't the core of the problem but how can Vigneault keep sending Patrick out on the power play. It is mind boggling to me how coaches get so enamored with a player seemingly for no reason. At the moment, Patrick is not a good NHL player.

Part of the issue with AV since his Vancouver days is this sort of tunnel vision, usually it goes against the young player instead of for him. It affects all coaches for sure to some degree, otherwise Babcock might still be the coach of the Maple Leafs haha

I don't think he gets claimed just with his contract, but it's a very "Ottawa friendly" deal where the cap hit is higher than the salary.
