    Default Am I offering enough??

    I'm currently in first place by about 38 points. It's a 20-team roto league where we keep 12 (11 F/D, 1 G). Stats are: G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, SOG, FW, Hits; W, GAA, SV%, SO.

I own Tim Thomas, so I want to try and sell high as I also own Rask. At this point I figure it's probably smarter to keep Rask (long-term), so what better time than to try and sell high?

I was looking to upgrade a couple of keeper spots (forward), so I offered the following:

I give: Thomas, Hudler, Pitkanen & Clowe
I get: Backstrom (goalie), Backes, Lidstrom & Hall

Am I asking for too much?

    The way I see it:
Backes = Clowe (same type of player)
Hall > Hudler (though Hudler is no slouch and will likely return to his form pre-KHL)
Lidstrom >> Pitkanen (though Pitkanen is a lot younger and can still put up 40 points)
Thomas >>> Backstrom (Kills in all categories)
    15-team keeper (keep 10) - G,A,+/-,PPP, Hits, Blocked Shots, W, SV%, Saves

Forwards - Kunin, Trenin, Eichel, Bjorkstrand, Boldy, Pastrnak, Boeser, Caufield, Laine, Crosby, Newhook, Konecny, Farabee, Rossi (NA)
Defenseman - Brodin, Hamilton, Zadorov, Severson, Forsling, Braun, Roy
Goalies - Sorokin, Hill, Varlamov, Daws

I was OK with it until I got to the very last name. Hall is far and away the best keeper in the deal and way more than just one ">" better than Hudler. Offering enough? No. Asking for too much? Yes.

I have to agree with Committed here. Asking for Hall in a keeper, dare I say this, is like asking for Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, etc. He is that valuable in a keeper league. His value is that much more than Hudler (who doesnt look good at all).

Plus you also have to question Backstrom injured hip.

Ok, so it looks like I'm undervaluing Hall here. What makes him attractive to the level of Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin? Does he have a similar ceiling (100+ points)?

I was thinking he was a 80-90 point guy, but now I'm thinking I'm way off base.

I think Blinnk went a little overboard with those comparisons, but yeah, I do think Hall has 100-point upside.
