Short Term and Long Term, who do you like better?
Cats are Goals, Assists, Hits, Blocks, +/-, Fights, PPP, SHP, GWG, PIMS.
I'm trying to decide who to build my defense around.

Weber - mainly due his stronger peripherals. His PPP are a bit low but that was due to a slow start and Suter injury - now both healthy and playing well, he'll pick it up.
With hits and blocks and such you have to go Weber.
not even close, webber for sure, especially with hits and blocks.

Points only, it's close but I prefer Weber (not by much). However, with SOG's, PPP, HIT, BS and GWG (since unless I know Edler less then I think I do, Weber scores more), Weber's just going to be a monster in every category.

Weber for me as well. I think Elder may very well hit a similar level as Weber as he just continuously seems to get better every season, but Weber is already there, particularly with those peripherals.

Weber is a stud. The only thing that could make this close in anyone's mind is the strength of their teams. Take that out of the equation and it's Weber in a landslide.
i disagree with all of the above and go with edler as his plus minus is way better and on a better team.
edler is also a year younger and more pts right now
I love Edler, but Weber is a beast, and not near his prime yet. Assuming they both stay on pretty much the same team for ever, I might take Edler, but since that is rarely the case, give me Shea Weber. Current better situation for multi-cat: Edler, but close or as good is Weber, and long term Weber hands down.

When the guy consistently leads all D-men in SOG that's where I'd want to make my investment in consistent offensive production...Edler is great, but I rather have Weber personally and I also have no reservations about his physical durability where as some of the Swedes tend to fall on the bit more fragile end of the spectrum...I think Weber would be smartest
