He's played 9gms and has 3 assists and 28 shots on goal with Norfolk.

By no means anything special at all, but give him some credit that these are the first games back off of surgery and a long time off the ice in game situations. However 2 of his 3pts game in the first 4 games, so only 1 in 5 since.

It's a tough call, nothing warranting his recall by TBay but you can't think they signed him with the intent of staying down and likewise for him, doubtful when he signed on the dotted line that he said "Oh yeah, I'd be happing riding buses in the 'A'".

I'm sure once he's up he'll perform decently (aside from +/- as expected), but who knows when that'll be.

    Thanks for the updates.

I used my waiver priority on him a couple weeks ago (once he hit the yahoo wire). I agree his stats in the minors are nothing to get excited about but you have to think these will improve, especially on the PP with the likes of St. Louis, Stamkos etc. I have no idea what calibre players he has to play with down in the AHL.

    Here's hoping it works out!

Norfolk doesn't have a lot of scoring talent on their team. Norfolk hasn't been scoring a lot of goals per game lately so you have to look at other stats for a better analysis. His SOG totals are definitely encouraging. In January, Norfolk has only scored more than 3 goals three times (in 13 games). On the season, they average 3.5 goals/game.

A quick search of "Bergeron" will yield you a thread (updated to the latest info) covering MAB

There isn't a lot of news on him lately. Both the NHL and AHL ASG were played so it may be a few days before we hear much.

Bergeron had a 3-point night (2G, 1A) including two PP Goals in Norfolk's OT win tonight. MAB had the OT GWG

Thanks for these updates, any idea when he's up with TB?

Tampa's Beat Writers have told me that they haven't heard anything. Obviously, he will be recalled at some point but right now it's up in the air. If Tampa's PP keeps struggling then I am willing to bet it is sooner rather than later.

However, he could still be a few weeks away too

MAB owners - our patience may be about to pay off:

    From today's Twitter:

    erlendssontrib Erik Erlendsson
Mike Lundin will likely sit out tomorrow's game vs #Blues while M-A Bergeron might be recalled and dress as 7th Dman

On NHL Home Ice (XM radio) Phil Esposito said the Bolts might look again to the outside of the organization to address this issue. Bergeron wasn't brought up during the chat. I'm wondering if they're having second thoughts about the investment...?
