    Default Time to drop Phaneuf???

I've had him as a keeper for a couple years in my pool and this year he's a total joke. 9 goals tonight by the Leafs and he's got zero points yet again and is a minus 1 in a 9-3 game. WTF!

Last year you could give him the benefit of the doubt but what's his excuse this year. Kaberle is on fire and at 18 points now so I really have no clue what excuse can be made for his performance in 24 games now.

    Drop him and move on?

your sig says that each team has 4 defensemen in an 8 man keeper league, so therefore the top 32 defenseman should be on teams. Phaneuf is not a top 32 defenseman fantasy wise.

Updated my sig. I can keep any 8 players before next season starts. Not sure who else to pick up right now I could use another center with a few more points so I don't need to drop him tonight or anything but is there even any sense in keeping this guy anymore. What sucks is he was my second round pick after he had a 60 point season when we switched our league to keeper.

Top point FA's. Grabovski got 3 more points tonight for 32 total but wouldn't help me for the playoffs or be a keeper at the end of the season. He has more points then Kreji but I'm falling behind a bit in the pool. Last number is total points

    Mikhail Grabovski

Long-term, I like all your other D guys better than Phaneuf. I would even rather have Markov moving forward, hoping he could get a bionic leg or something. Dion is one of my personal favorites but man he is fantasy kryptonite right now.

There are many issues at play here with Dion. Yes, there is a ton of pressure on him. He also needed to break the label of being a one trick pony who is wreckless.

Now he is trying to do everything and obviously Wilson wants him focused on defense. Unfortunately, as a Phaneuf rooter, I want the old nasty kid back. So what if he was a cowboy in his own end, he was a treat to watch!!

He is too young and talented to write off for good, but DS has a ton of nice D guys and Dion has sunk to the bottom of that list.

Based on my forwards and goalies I might only be able to keep 2 d-men.

I was thinking keeping Miller, Kiper, Savard, Getzlaf, Semin and one of my LW. Probably Cammellari if he picks it up. Not sure though Vanek and Leino doing ok. That would leave 2 d and I was thinking Markov and Visnovski. Myers was a previous keeper but I got to make some tough choices.

In your case I think you can't keep Phaneuf. I love this guy's upside but you have to pick Vis and either markov or pieterangelo or myers over phaneuf.

By upside I mean after Kaberle moves on.
