    Default Green or Doughty

Green or Doughty for the next 3 years?

Is Doughty a safer pick for a steady 55+ pts?

    Thank you.

Green is #1 D in fantasy world, and should be there for next 3 years. After that, maybe Doughty will pass him. Green is a great by low candidate right now...

Green is a very good buy-low candidate, and I think that fantasy-wise, he will out produce Doughty slightly over the three years.

Green for the next 3 seasons. But if I had to pick a keeper, I would take Doughty. Not sure that makes sense but... lol

    I think it's a very tough call.

    Here is my long-winded analysis.

Straight outta the gates in their careers, Doughty was the more defensively responsible player, and came into his own as the offensive power he is. Which is a great one.

The Kings are establishing themselves to be an offensive team for a bunch of years....because of that Doughty should just keep his pace. As the team begins to score more, he will begin to rack up the more points. He's a Great talent, who is already defensively responsible and his offense will just continue to get better.

Green has always been shakey defensively as has the whole Caps team. They were a run and gun style, and while they were doing that, he was racking up the points. The only reason his +/- was so good was because they scored a ton of goals. I think him being NOT selected for Canada may have opened his eyes that he needs to work on other aspects of his game rather than just the O

The Caps can't really get much better in the offensive department and seem to be trying to focus more on defense....as is Green. Their recent failure in the playoffs has maybe woken them up that 7-5 wins during the season won't help you in the post-season. Because of this I can see his offensive numbers beginning to drop, and falling i line with other top notch Dmen...I don't see him consistently at the 70 point range.

For the next 3 years, I think both will have similar #s, but I guess if you HAD to pick one, Green would maybe be the safer bet since he's already had those gawdy defensive #'s. I just have this funny feeling that in the very near future (within 3 years) Doughty will come out on top. I just think he's the more pure talent.

    But that's just me.

Green for me, don't let the first half of the season fool you. He is the best fantasy D-man out there. I wouldn't be surprised to see him finish with at least 60 pts.

Everyone has off years & slumps. Yes Green is trying a new system but do you really think that Ovie, Semin, Backstrom, Green are going to stay at their current pace. watch them put it together sooner than later. Once they figure out this new system and know their roles they'll be back scoring.

Look at the points Green is putting up now while the Capitals' powerplay has been abysmal by their standards. Add in the powerplay improving and him getting 6/7/8 minutes a night on the powerplay. Would say Green for sure, he just has such a high top end potential.

I place a high premium on skating ability in my picks when i'm looking at long term projection....Doughty has much better skating ability...Green not so much with both being about 10 points apart points-wise (Green around 70...Doughty around 60) I prefer Doughty long term for sure

Give me Doughty. According to Big Ev, Green's a flaming douche.
