Did I waste my 1 over all pick 2007 ? Let me know

i need you opinion on this one. Rookie draft 2007
( a rookie is a player thats count less then then 10 NHL games no mather the year of is draft Free agent that never played in the NHL like Murphy counts as well as a rookie)

did I do good in my first round,

im happy with Turris, i liked him better then Kane and also an other GM took Gagner over him to, but now im not sure anymore, Turris isent producing as much as i exepected and i dont know if he will have a rookie season as good as Kane.

did i **** up ? its my first time picking first overall and i dont think there was a clear cut number 1 overall

Assuming the draft was in October before the season started and not yesterday you did just fine. Hindsight being 20/20 Kane is probably now ahead of Turris because of this years production, but most people still have Turris in the #2 spot.

Also at the time of the draft Kane/Turris was a coinflip, it was pretty even in the debate over who would be better (even NHL scouts had different opinions), also add in that Turris was coming off a lot of hype from the lopsided Super Series results and Kane hadn\'t had the opportunity to shine since the last WJC\'s, Turris was edging as the more popular pick.

So yeah all things considered don\'t second guess yourself, also if you\'re patient with Turris he\'ll be a great star in the future, it\'ll just take a while.

Turris is a great pick. Letang and Hensick are also both going to be great players.

You still did well, but elite goalies are hard to find and even in September you should have known better (did you hear of DobberHockey at the time?)
Turris will be an elite forward though, don\'t regret that pickup.

really depends on individual pool format for goalie value compared to forwards etc. for where you place Price on that list. Same thing applies to D.

first thanks for the comments,

Draft was end of september 2007.
true elite goalies are hard to find, but i have Luongo that i picked 5th over all 3 years ago and with Osgood. i needed offence to compensate i dont have an elite offence, I was been abble to snag inginla wich was a steal in the second round and Nash, Then i hit very good with Stastny in the rookie draft which helped me allot 3 years ago.

Dmen i own Whitney and Phaneuf and Mesaroz, i need a D and letang what available with my 4th pick so i took him. At the time I felt that in the next 2 years or 3 years their is going to be an other top golie and then i will pick him.

I got your pool guides Dobber and i read then carefully, i just felt that Turris over price woulb be better for me down the road.

you didn\'t screw up hindsight is always 20-20 one question though how deep is your league , postional requirments might make kane and murphy more valueable ( I know murphy got injured but from a presaseon value, looking forward 5 years or so)these are questions that must alwasy be asked when evaluting trades. also Gangnre is not a bad pick at number 2 he has great vision. I also have Price and like him alot, but his value really depends on the depth of your league and how guys value goalies. Injury questions aside mr mich and dobber\'s opinions on this are quite good

You cant \"mess up\" when you end up with turris on your team, but i probably would have taken price. either way though, dont get down on yourself, turris is a GREAT talent, on an up and coming team. MERRY XMAS
