would you trade Duschene for Kovalchuk straight up?

I'm sitting in first place now but have 2 injuries to Hemsky and MacD.

If I make this trade it will cover for one of my injured wingers probably Macd that I will drop. I can then pick up a center to replace Duschene. WW. Stepan, Filpulla, Berglund or I can just keep Duschene and replace Macd with ww. Frolik, Vrbata, Brouwer.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Not sure stats... If FW is a stat i would want to keep Duchene and drop A.Mac for Brouwer if No FW i would still keep Duchene but wouldnt cry if i trade Duchene for Kovvy then pick up Stepan(or Fillpula either one)

Therefore, If you Don't wanna risk anything keep Duchene but if you wanna take a chance for the better overall player this year take Kovvy he will heat up.

I would definitely make this move if I could. Normally I'd advise against a risky move for a team in first place but this is almost a no lose move. Filpulla will fill a good portion of what you lose in Duchene and Kovalchuk can only go up from here. Looks like a steal to me.

Go for it. It isn't without risk, but Kovy will be a big upgrade if/when he gets going, and your not likely to get him any cheaper than this.

Unfortunately since you blow at wing and have Crosby Getzlaf above Duchene at C I'd make the move...expecting about a goal heavy 70 point pace from Kovalchuk..nothing miracle worthy
