I'd also be curoius to know what people think his upside is, as he was just offered to me in return for Bogo today.
Would 40-45 be his ceiling, or can he really go higher? Will he have competition for PP time in the years to come?
I finally dumped Suter as a keeper - he is as solid and steady a 42 point guy as you will get and yes likely has upside, but in Predville they are so damn deep in D prospects, I just don't see him doing a heck of a lot more.
Predators excell at scoring a goal or two and winning with relentless D - I don't think we are safe in projecting much more production for Suter - I would rather have Bogosian and wait him out.

I agree that Suter is as steady as they come. I think in his most productive season he may get 50 pts if all goes well, but expect 40 and that's what you will get.Originally Posted by Shoeless

I would also add that, with Suter in his situation in NSH, he is so good at the defensive aspect of the game, his offence takes a backburner to the other, maybe less all around blueliners. Dan Hamhuis suffered the same fate, and willingly took the same situation in VCR. So yes, from a fantasy perspective, I would be a bit leery of Suter, despite being a very good NHLer

After seeing that squad of D... I may lean toward doing it. You must be loaded upfront!!
suter is a nice d-man to own in most leagues , be it shallow /deep
gives you nice depth numbers across the board in roto and steady production for h2h

I took over a very bad team last year, and try to rebuild it... my best players are my 2 goalies, Lundqvist and Rinne (3 for a W, 2 for a SO)
Upfront I have guys like... Tanguay, Kesler, Benn, Backes, Horcoff, Smyth, Pominville, Savard as my best players...
I'm really rebuilding, I have lots of promising youngs and prospects... Stepan, BConnolly, Perron, Backlund, Gerbe, Schroeder, Nyquist, Tarasenko, ...
Gotta think I'm not going to be contending for 3 years at least!!
And I have 2 first rounder in 2011 and 4 first rounder in 2012...

Yeah, NoUse. I agree he'd be a nice pick-up for your squad.
Well, in the end I got Goligoski (from another GM) for a 3rd and a 4th rounder in 2012... I don't mind giving them up, as I have 4 first and a 2nd in 2012 already!
Maybe I'll try to get Suter too :P

What you guys think about trying to get him for Raymond and a 5th rounder ??
The GM ask me about Kesler and Raymond, and offer me Gilbert and a 5th. I told me no for Kesler, but Raymond would be ok I think.
Is it enough to try it ? (Raymond+5th for R.Suter)
