    Default Drop Rask for Crawford/Leighton

Hey guys Our goalie categories are interesting. Wins, Losses and Sv% that is it. So the premium is on quality games over quantity (min 3 games). I am in first place with Howard and Bob leading the way but would you

    1) Drop Rask for Crawford
    2) Drop Rask for Leighton and secure Philly's goalie situation
    3) Do nothing and keep Rask in case Thomas comes back down to earth

I only need wins and to avoid losses. I can play Vokoun for spot starts (dicey) and hope he gets traded to a winning team.

    Thanks

It's a one year league I'd take the gamble on Crawford. Definitely wouldn't touch Leighton until he actually gets back then maybe stash him as insurance. Until then I'd give Crawford a go.

One thing I wonder about is whether or not you've explored the trade avenue. My guess is that if you drop Rask the Thomas owner will pick him up. Seems like a waste of assets if you just drop Rask for free when you know at least one GM should covet him.

One year league Head 2 Head and no one wants to trade. People overvalue their players. Regarding Leighton, I have 2 IR spots and I can stash him away in one of them.

I agree that dumping Rash for nothing sucks (took him in the 5th) but I look at BOB's production as almost equivalent to Rask's potential production this year and I got him off the WW. So I'm not as bitter.

Hmmm, seems like there's some merit to stashing Leighton and then grabbing Crawford then. Assuming there's no moves limit of course.

I'd grab Crawford in a one-year league. Rask isn't helping anyone in a one-year pool.

Move limit is 75 for the season (unlimited for all intents and purposes). I'm at 26 ish. Metal dude - u in london right now? I've beeb off work for the past 3 days here thanks to the immense amount of snow. Hence the extra time for the hockey pool research!

Yeah I'm in London right now. Snow's been awesome, reminds me of home! And of course got to start my exam break a little early.

I think you are at right around where you want to be for moves. A third of the season is up and you've used a third of your moves. You can afford to splurge making the Leighton stash and Crawford pickup but it might be better to just make the Crawford pickup on it's own and spare yourself something for end of season. I get the vibe that Leighton is safe on waivers for now.

I should mention that other FA/Waiver goalies include

    Crawford
    Leighton
    Lindback
    S Mason
    Niemi
    Budaj
    Mike Smith
    Theodore

Winning is the most important cat and peripherals aren't needed.

Since wins are most important Crawford is top of the heap.

If you're after wins, Lindback may get you a few while Renne is injured. Lots of goalies on your wire though. You could probably leave Leighton out there for a bit, I get the sense your other GMs aren't as "goalie crazy" as mine are (All goalies are gone in my league, even the back ups).

we used to be goalie crazy with our prev league settings. Now with losses being a category we can't load up on goalie games and just hope for wins. Every win is super important so the Mike Smiths of the NHL are left alone
