Studs of the Night
Somethin's a Bruin
Thomas cushions his stats as he puts another solid perfamance against the Sabres
- the only team left that they've never swept a season series.
Lucic (26gp) scored his 13th goal of the season, which not only ended Miller's shutout
streak but passed last year's mark of 12 (he only did play 25 though). Recchi's overtime game winner was tipped in by Seiderberg who was playing in his 400th NHL game.
The Price is Right
With another strong .964% Save Percentage, Carey notched his fifth 1GA game in 6 games played going 5-0-1. PG Beat writer ericdaoust give a great analysis on MTL players from tonight's game here.
A night for the Panthers
Stephan Weiss' goal of the year candidate was the game winner (and second of the night)
in overtime against the Avs. After tonight Weiss becomes the 3rd most point producing Panther with a total of 296.
Plastic Rats were thrown on the ice after Weiss' goal as a tribute to the 96 Finals between these two teams (Avs took the championship). It was fitting to have Vokoun win his 250th game over his ex back up (Anderson) on a night that Joe Sakic drops the puck.
Honourable Mention :
Rene Bourque's 3 point night gives him 6 in 6.
Teemu Selanne's 2 points tonight gives him 26 in 25 games played, not bad for a 40 year old!
Duds of the Night
no particular order
S.O.Senators
Another no pointer tonight gives Alfredsson a career worst eight game pointless streak.
Spezza ended his 7 game pointless drought tonight with an assist.
Brutal game overall by the Sens this evening.
Montreal's Powerplay
Even though they got a 1st period ppg and won the game, the Habs couldn't convert on 9 minutes of power play, a 5 min major & 4 min double minor, in the second period. They miss Markov.
Where's Stamkos
Stamkos is now pointless in 3 and only has 2 points in his last 6 games.
Leading the league in goals as well as points at one point, he's now riding shotgun to Crosby in both, 3G and 8 points behind.

You got lazy on the "Montreal Powerplay" headline. All of the others were very punny.
