Seider was traded straight up for Dahlin in my signature league so clearly somebody out there thinks Seider is going to take 17 more steps up.

Well I mean they're still right there. It's not like they're competing with stud teams. They just had a 9 point gap when Larking went down
I don't think the Yzerplan has really changed much. This year and last year were about trying to compete. Their signings were middle of the road players who could hopefully fit into similar/lower roles in future seasons when the cap is higher. They've never had high end elite prospects so building depth was always key. When this slump started they were the only team with 11 or 12 guys with 10 or more goals. I think they have 13 now. The big (not franchise level) prospects have to take a jump next season. Any playoff time before then is golden.
Since 2017 they've been drafting inside the top 10. Yzerman has been running it since 2019. Not much coming from the draft and what could be coming keeps getting blocked by those middling signing by Yzerman.

No big movers straight to the NHL nope. Mostly back half of the top 10. Never had a top 3 pick. Is that Yzerman's fault for not tanking harder? Maybe it is. The bottom out year they dropped to 4th instead of 1st. Would Lafreniere have them in a better spot than Raymond? Hard to say.
They do have an impressive collection of good prospects though. And they're going to start coming next year. I'm still excited about that.
Prior to this slump they were neck and neck with the Leafs. Pretty impressive for a bunch of depth players.
C'mon Wings! Let's get that first March win!!

All it needed was me putting money on the opponent. Ffs.
Enjoyed hearing the PDOcast talk about the Yzerman Plan and the self-inflicted wounds of getting vets that block the path of Edvinsson and Berggren and the lack of contributions from a lot of their recent picks. I've felt this way for a while but a lot of people in the media just want to praise Yzerman.

Read that Edvinsson was called up this morning. Anyone know if that means there's a new injury on D or they just plan to start incorporating Edvinsson at this point?

11:00 AM: Wings head coach Derek Lalonde has shared that defenseman Jake Walman (lower-body) will be unavailable on Tuesday, while Michael Rasmussen (illness) will be a game-time decision. Walman’s absence opens a top-four role for Simon Edvinsson, who is expected to slot into the lineup.
What an abysmal month. To go 3-6-1 vs let's call them non elite teams. Just brutal.
How has Edvinsson looked?
