And with a massive goal to make it 6-2 lol.

Could be a boost for that 2nd PP unit though so that's great.

    A pick is a pick....

    DetroitRedWings
UPDATE: The Detroit #RedWings today acquired a 7th round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for defenseman Troy Stecher.
Assume Leddy moves somewhere today. Otherwise not really sure what they do. Maybe Pius Suter? I would be shocked if Bertuzzi goes....

More atrocious stats on the Wings defense this year.....

They've given up 10 hat tricks this year. The most since the Sharks in 95-96.

    This one is really something....

Meh, a lot of growing pains to be had before success. Can't wait when they become contenders. Maybe another 2-3 years of this?

To me, that "big piece" they really need is a 1/1b C who is RH. Wright is the dream... but I'd be happy enough with Savoie too. There's always a space for good D... but with their wait times, and the fact that they are LOADED with intriguing D prospects already (Edvinsson, AlJo, Buium, Wallinder, Sebrango, Viro, Tuomisto? McIsaac?) I think the ideal is that solid top-line(ish) C. (And Cossa shored up their long-term G needs)

A current/future top nine that can mix and match and all act as solid lines would not be that far away:

    Bert-Larkin-Raymond
    Vrana-J.Veleno-Zadina
    Ras-PIECE-Berggren

Again, mix and match to optimize skill sets/defensive acumen... but I'm happy enough with that top-9 to believe the 're-build' is ready to move towards competing.

Don't forget they are going to make a splash one of these offseasons. They have a ton of space to play with.

Add Elmer Soderblom to any future lineup. He looks unbelievable.

Great call on Elmer too HR. Toss is C.Mazur (looked great in college this year) and C.Hanas (solid year in the Dub) and the prospect depth is enticing.

Even forgot about Fabbri in my original post.

Think that's exactly the situation - really need that high-end piece to complement the depth. Either via draft luck or an offseason splash.

May take another year or two... but can see the light at the end of tunnel here.

Yzerman is a master at building through the draft, shedding excess cap costs and then layering in good new contracts to mix in with the young core. He will sign 1 maybe 2 significant players here in the off season. If not this off season, for sure by next offseason, but the cap space is there a plenty for a couple good signings.

If Larkin is your #1C then you need Raymond to be a superstar and a high-end #2C. Trocheck?
