I'm always a little gun shy when reading about player legends becoming more than figureheads in an org... but with the track record Stevie Y has built and the "perfect human" tag Nick was dubbed with during his playing days... I'm SUPER excited to see these two faces usher in a new era of DRW hockey!

Carter Mazur. Keep an eye on this guy as all I keep hearing is amazing things.
3rd round, 70th overall in 2021. 27 points in 26 games for Denver.
The best story in the Red Wings pool this season, Mazur is a kid who would have ranked near the bottom of this list had I done it in the summer. His play at Denver has become a real talking point in college hockey circles. As I write this, he’s seventh in under-20 scoring in college hockey and in a tight race for the freshman scoring lead with Josh Doan (Coyotes/Arizona State) and Matthew Knies (Leafs/University of Minnesota), playing above a point per game. Mazur’s a hard-working, honest 200-foot winger with enough skill to make plays all over the ice and finish around the net. Every team wants the three-zone, competitive winger who can play up and down the lineup and that’s what he’s now starting to project as.
With the possibility of Vrana returning soon, and keeping in mind a possible adjustment period, who do you foresee as the player(s) in the top 6 most negatively impacted by his return?
Thanks.
Since Jan 21, 9 of Detroit's 13 games have went over 6 goals scored.
And they've allowed 4 goals or more in 8 of those games. Thankfully they've only allowed 10 once though................what a side show that was.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like they'll be getting that final lottery piece I think they desperately need.
They're in 23rd right now and 4 points up on NYI who have 4 games in hand. Otherwise the Blackhawks are 6 points back and I don't see them having a great finish. The rest might be too far back to have Detroit fall any further.
Vrana update....
Jakub Vrana (shoulder) skated again on Friday, but a return date remains uncertain.
Advice: "I don't have a specific time frame yet, but every day he's out there, he moves closer. We'll see," said coach Jeff Blashill. "We're still working towards that. He's on the ice. He's spent time in practice with us. I just would hate to put a real date on it and lock myself into that." Vrana has been skating for two months, as he works his way back from shoulder surgery in October. He hasn't played yet this season.
Wings lines at practice this morning with Vrana returning.
Ok, new look for the Red Wings in line rushes this morning:
