I agree. He's a great dman and is worthy of a top 4 spot on any team when he's healthy. The problem is if you are playing Nurse and Barrie together and you are also dressing Kulikov and Russell, you will only have 1 dman in your bottom 6 that can start a break out. That's not going to work. Scratching Jones for Kulikov is not making your team better and there's not a good chance that Kulikov replaces Russell in the lineup.

I dont disagree, and not sure that is what will happen but we'll see. I am not a fan of Kulikov's game but we'll see. Their left handed Dmen (other than Nurse) have been a disappointment. It's sad that Koekkoek was one of their better Dmen earlier this season. This trade pretty much tells you he's done for the regular season at least. Was actually looking forward to him returning, as sad as that is. I expect he's there to replace one of Jones/Laggesson who have been in and out of the lineup themselves due to their inconsistent play. I dont foresee Russell coming out.

If Kulikov comes to the Oilers for a 6th rounder that's a deal I can get behind. Kulikov is a solid defensive guy and the Oilers can use some shoring up there. Little cost to it.

EDIT: Hearing conditonal 4th? Not too bad I guess. Definitely wouldn't want to go much higher than that.

Also, it sounds like Kulikov's passport is close to expiring so he has to get that sorted out before he can even apply for a Visa to work in Canada

Conditional 4th that becomes a 3rd if the Oilers win a round. Worth it if he helps with that goal, but was hoping it would be a pick that doesn't even change hands unless they win a round because I'm not sure this moves the needle.

On the Kulikov Visa:

My passport was due to expire when the Devils hired me. Marie handles all the immigration things for #NJDevils. She had me a new passport and visa within 48 hours. She's an absolute wizard. Rest assured, she'll have this sorted quickly.
