Yeah, I was skeptical from the start. He was terrible in Nashville. I liked the effort in the sense that he fit a need for a RHC, but to sign him for anything more than the minimum was suspect. They could use savings wherever they can find it. Plus, he got a second year and with where this is headed he is almost certainly getting bought out, which just continues the trend of dead money on their books.

The failure of this signing, and the continued atrophy of Khaira's 5-on-5 game has sunk their bottom-6. Gaetan Haas can't get here soon enough.

Lowetide suggested that an impediment to a trade to help the situation is the 14-day quarantine, comparing the delay to taking a certain brand of boner pills. My counter, if you're resorting to boner pills then you still want the boner at some point, so take the pill sooner than later!

I suppose it depends on who's getting the shaft.

Given that Nashville is paying Turris $2M per year for the next 8 years, he seems to have little motivation to improve. Their best bet is to move him to the 4th line and pray he has an impact there.

Ottawa came along at just the right time for Edmonton. Hopefully, they tighten up defensively and don't develop bad habits from beating on the Sens. I feel bad for the Sens. Craig Anderson never got enough credit in my opinion.

That Puljujarvi goal was nice to see. Could be just the confidence boost he needs to get going.

Could be a confidence boost, or merely a mirage. Ottawa's been a temporary cure all but not a solution for teams. I still see plenty of flaws. The Oilers need to be crushing their Jets, Canucks and Flames matchups, but so far they are splitting.

He looked good, but to be fair, they were playing Ottawa. He got an assist on one of Puljujarvi's goals and did a good job in their own end, keeping guys to the outside.

Anyone see the Derek Stepan trade rumours? Supposedly on the block. I don't know how to make the cap work, but strikes me as an upgrade on Turris at the 3C, so I'm trying to devise fake trades.

Based on what? LOL!!!

His cap hit is $6.5M (yes, I know, he's only actually making $5M but still, that cap hit) compared to Turris who's cap hit is $1.65M. The only benefit is that Stepan is a UFA at seasons end where Turris is signed for one more year.

Please explain to me how he's worth roughly $5M more against the cap. I cant wait to hear this one.
