I think if the Oilers lose the next 3 games in their home stand and start the season 0-6-1, Eakins is gone. This is an entirely plausible scenario.

Marincin recalled and Nurse sent back to OHL. I guess that the brass feels that Nurse isn't quite ready for the big jump, although I thought he has looked pretty good. One more year of juniors for the 19 year old.

Interesting, these were the exact line combos my coworker and I were discussing yesterday. It could actually work (fingers crossed). Arcobello seems to play decently with Hall and Eberle, and then it gives a little most balanced attack for the other lines, while also sheltering Draisaitl a little more.

I'm such a degenerate. I STILL watched last night's game, even though I knew the result ahead of time. The Oilers played well defensively, but never looked like a threat to score.

On the flip side I found a way to watch high def hockey, any teams I want, for free yesterday. Took some jigging to get VLC to work properly, but now it works wonderfully!

Yeah, those guys can make an empty goal look like magic. Going to need to start calling them the triplets with Vrbata looking like he was born to play with those guys.

My criticism of Vrbata is that I think sometimes he's having so much fun moving the puck with those two that he forgets to shoot the puck when he's gotten a golden opportunity.

All great theories gentlemen, but the sole reason they won tonight is due to a force much greater than physical play, hard work, scoring goals or even all three of these combined.
