Marincin recalled and Nurse sent back to OHL. I guess that the brass feels that Nurse isn't quite ready for the big jump, although I thought he has looked pretty good. One more year of juniors for the 19 year old.

Arcobello seems to play decently with Hall and Eberle, and then it gives a little most balanced attack for the other lines, while also sheltering Draisaitl a little more.

They probably just realized this season is another lost cause, no need to burn his ELC when they're going to be a bottom barrel team again.

Sooner or later they are going to have to burn one of his ELC years while they are suckin'.

I'm such a degenerate. I STILL watched last night's game, even though I knew the result ahead of time. The Oilers played well defensively, but never looked like a threat to score.

On the flip side I found a way to watch high def hockey, any teams I want, for free yesterday. Took some jigging to get VLC to work properly, but now it works wonderfully!

I watched too. I was basically there to see the Sedins work their magic.

Yeah, those guys can make an empty goal look like magic. Going to need to start calling them the triplets with Vrbata looking like he was born to play with those guys.

My criticism of Vrbata is that I think sometimes he's having so much fun moving the puck with those two that he forgets to shoot the puck when he's gotten a golden opportunity.

Yeah, he certainly could have had another couple goals last night. Fun to watch, and he's killing it for me in a couple hockey pools this year!

    Oilers finally win a game!

How did they do it? Surprise surprise, physical play and hard work fighting for the puck, it's amazing how well that can work, even for a poor team

Nice win. I'm sure the players feel great about that monkey off their chests and be looser (in a good way) for a while after tonight.

    So...extend Eakins?

Scored more goals than they let in. A winning formula. Yakupov only played like 10 minutes, but looked really great.

All great theories gentlemen, but the sole reason they won tonight is due to a force much greater than physical play, hard work, scoring goals or even all three of these combined.

    Yup - the bondon curse.
