    So...Protection List 7/3/1:
F - Anderson, Toffoli, Gally, KK, Evans, Lehkonen, Armia?
    D - Weber, Petry, Edmundson
    G - Price

I think Habs need to make sure Seattle doesn't take Jake Allen as well.

Seems exactly right to me. Don't know that I'm that worried about losing Allen. Certainly not worth getting hosed in a side deal and giving up assets. I think it more likely Byron or Chiarot goes. But I could easily see Allen too.

Would they consider exposing Weber or does he have a NMC? Might be a calculated risk that Seattle would pass on him.

No NMC for Weber. I don't think they see the risk of Weber being selected (his stock is decidedly up right now) as worth it in order to protect Chiarot. I tend to agree.

I think Allen is a pretty valuable piece for helping us get back into the playoffs with a rested Price. His cap hit was 4.35m this year, but now it's down to 2.875m. I don't think you will be able to find a goalie that can help carry this team to the playoffs for that kind of money. Habs have excess picks this year, pipeline is good, I wouldn't miss a pick leaving to protect him.

    @Shift Disturber
Weber can be expose. This was something I was thinking of doing, before the playoffs. Now...leaning not to.
Seattle is going to want a big name to promote. Weber can be that name. His cap won't hurt them much... maybe.

Montreal has enough useful skaters that if Seattle picks Jake Allen i would be thrilled as hes easily replaceable. depth dman are harder to replace than backup goalies for sure
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.

I'm not convinced Allen will be the guy picked. They're not the only team with a decent goalie available.

He's not though... He's capable of carry the weight of MTL to give Price rest (Habs need that 1Bish type). For a 2.875m price tag you aren't going to get better.
Losing Chairot is a lot more replaceable. Romanov can step in, and Cale Fleury is ready to step into the lineup as well.

Agree. But I don't know that'd I'd put a higher percentage chance of being picked on any of Allen, Byron, or Chiarot at this point. As I said in the Seattle thoughts thread - If I'm Seattle I'm taking a few more goalies than I need if there is some real quality available. Allen would fall into the category.

Not so much of a risk now....

So exposing Weber you now protect Chiarot. Unless Seattle picks up Byron, I think Allen is the clear pick here.
    I don't like losing him.

Unless it's a move where it's MTL asking "can you take Fleury over Allen? We'll give you Byron if you take Fleury". But I don't think Fleury would be on their realistic radar. If they wanted Fleury so badly, I think they could engage in trade talks involving picks going to MTL. Anything because I feel like Fleury would be easy to acquire if MTL is willing to hear from Seattle.

    1- Allen
    2- Fleury
    3- Kulak
4- There is no 4, I don't see them taking Drouin or Byron (one of them will be in the 7 forwards protected)
