Habs have games in hand over all the teams playing catch-up. That means more games but less rest down the stretch. Happy they have so much depth (especially Allen) and I hope Bergy brings in some more bodies on the cheap.

Also, Perry has been unreal.

I think the playoff teams are pretty set for the North, it's just who plays who and those top 4 teams can def all end up 1st and the only "shock" is Montreal from the beginning of the season guesses, but not now.

You need to go look at Allens last six or seven starts and see how many goals they have scored when he's starting. Its embarrassing.

Edit - his last seven starts, they have 13 goals total scored. Thankfully their last game vs OTT, they scored 4 for him. His six previous starts, they scored 9 goals. They arent even averaging two goals per game when he starts. As I say, embarrassing.

I took your comment more as the Canadiens overall past couple games, not specifically Allen's starts.

Regardless, the team has changed a lot over the past several weeks with the coaching changes, the covid break, and the line juggling / new players etc.

I worry about this teams defensive abilities more than there ability to score goals.

As I said, hopefully they can find a way to score with him in the nets because they don't very often.

Goalie situations in the North:
Ottawa - Lawl
Montreal - Price hurt, Allen making the deal look smort
Toronto - 4th string was getting starts
Winnipeg - Helly holding it together
Calgary - Markstrom hurt and now underperforming
Edmonton - 39yr old goalie has taken over as the starter
Vancouver - The true starter took control of the job too late

Going into the final stretch of the yr, only Winnipeg and arguably Vancouver is playing the goalies that starter the yr as the starter. Goalie depth is a real thing and MB paying for Allen looks crazy like a fox right now.

This happened to Allen when he was playing in STL too during Binnington's ascendance to stardom. It was very frustrating to watch. Blues just didnt play well in front of him
