Lawson with a great pass down the ice to put Pacioretty on a breakaway. Two goals for Patches tonight. 3-2 Sens.

Pacioretty has two goals and two posts. Kostitsyn is back to being Kostitsyn.

The game cut out at 10PM sharp with 90 seconds left in the game. Sure enough Gomez scores in the final minute to put the game in OT. I can't comment any further but the game is going to a shootout as I write this.

Cole and Pacioretty scored in the shootout to give the Habs the win. Pacioretty was a man possessed out there. Looks very promising. He is throwing the body around and showing no effects of his injury.

Eric, how did Spezza and Karlsson look?

They looked like themselves. I did not see anything that I did not expect. Both are effective offensive players with a ton of skill but their flaws also showed a bit. Spezza can be a turnover machine and Karlsson can be pushed off the puck.

I had to leave the game early because my 3 year old was getting too tired. I get home to watch the end and with a minute left, Rogers cuts out and goes to MLB coverage?? So I check Sportsnet and they have the final as Sens 3 - Habs 2....then I go to TSN this morning and the Habs won?? Weird stuff.

Pacioretty looked really good last night, if your league counts SOG, he looks like he is going to put up 400 this year with the way he is firing the puck.

Gomez and Kostitsyn were exactly what you would expect, nice flashes at times but mostly underwhelming. Kostitsyn and Karlsson on the ice together is like watching a real life turnover machine. They may as well just passed the puck back and forth from blue line to blue line.

Zack Smith had a nice game for the Sens, was all over the place and showed off some nice hands.

Price was not at his best but in the first minute, he absolutely robbed someone with the glove and it was spectacular.

That's all I can remember, Cheers!

NHL Center Ice has some open channels which is likely where you were watching it. It cut off at exactly 10PM. My guess is the channel opens and closes at set times as opposed to being manually turned off during regular season games. Someone was slacking off on the job.

LOL, just as the Habs pulled the goalie too.

It was during the timeout I think. If you were watching the same feed as me, the picture was terrible. I'm pretty sure the mid-80s had a more clear picture for hockey games. Maybe the camera died and that's why we were cut off... ?

I did not catch the game tonight. I was out early to reserve a table for the UFC event. If anyone watched the game I would appreciate some observations.

The Habs have signed D Chris Campoli to a one-year, $1.75 million contract. It's the typical stop-gap signing that they make at this time of the year when something else goes wrong, especially on the Andrei Markov front.

This time I think the signing is indicative of the lack of development from Yannick Weber. The Habs have been going with a very young roster this year in the exhibitions and I expected Weber to show more leadership and get more involved in the game, given his experience compared to many of his teammates on the ice. But that didn't happen. Weber still plays very tentative and as a result coughs the puck up way too much. For a dman with his size issues he has to be much more efficient with the puck and he has to find more ways to leave his mark on the game.

As for Campoli, expect more of the same. The last couple years he has produced as a one-point-per-four-game pace. I don't see anything that will make this suddenly change.

Diaz, Gallagher, Bournival all making strong impressions tonight. And Price is playing very well. It's been a tough training camp for him but he's been getting better and better every game which is a good sign.

Trotter is showing some of the weaknesses that put him on waivers today. He is a good skater and skilled offensively but he is also mistake prone and does not try very hard defensively. Meanwhile Gallagher is playing more like a spark plug all over the place.

Personally I don't mind the signing. He has two seasons of 30 points and when used sparingly can be effective. Basically it puts some experience in the lineup while the injured players heal up and doesn't force the team to play young players that are not ready.
