If you ask someone at RDS or TVA they'll tell you Lecavalier is their top prospect.

    I'll go with Sergachev.

He should be, ya. What I like about him other than his great skillset is his vision and the fact that he used to be a forward. He has that defensive mindset with that offensive twist. I don't think he's the next Burns but he should be a solid offensive-minded and responsible on the back-end D-Man.

I think he will be a very good piece for them in 2-3 years time.

If he does well in camp I'd like to see the team keep him up for a couple games. Just to get his feet wet before going back to junior.

I agree! If he can handle it, he could easily slot in to that 6th spot IMO.

I'm against keeping him up for the full year. I'm just saying keep him up for 2-3 games if he's not overwhelmed during preseason games.

I think it would be wise to send him back down too but keeping a young D up in his first year has worked for some that were physically mature for their age (Doughty, Jones, Ekblad, Hanifin and Fowler, just to name a few but I must admit that all those guys were pegged as top 3 choices in their draft classes whereas Sergachev wasn't).

My issue isn't so much Sergachev himself. The Habs as a team have severe trainwreck potential.

Maybe it's part of their strategy?

Maybe but my point is they can have a trainwreck with or without Sergachev being on the team. I'd rather keep him out of that potentially toxic environment.

Sergachev is going to get a lot of light under the microscope this year. Windsor has a very solid team that will be hard to top in the OHL and the Mem-Cup this year. The exposure Sergachev will get and the chance to be part of a winning environment will be invaluable experience for him. Keeping him with the Habs would be a massive mistake for the organization.

I agree. It will be way more beneficial long term to send him to the O and get him that experience!
