Andrighetto signs one year, one way.
Barberio signs two years, one way.

Good depth signings IMO. I just hope that Andrighetto is not part of their regular top-6 plans and that Barberio is their 6th-7th d-man at best. If not, we are in for a long year once again (not in a good way)...

I have no issue with Andrighetto being a L3 depth scorer who can play in top 6 when there's injuries. After all, the scoring line gig is Dale Weise's to lose.

So what are the odds that MB goes after a Hartnell, or a Ladd, or someone like that? or will he just stand pat?

Question for the Habs fans. In your honest (non-biased as best you can) opinions; how many legit top four Dmen would you say the Habs currently roster? Is Emelin a top-four NHL Dman on most teams? What about Petry? Do you consider him a legit top-four guy?

We all know about PK. Is Markov still considered a top-four guy in the league?

Subban and Petry = 100% yes

For Markov and Beaulieu, I would have to see how they are at the start of this year (regression and progression-wise respectively). If Markov can still hold his own and Beaulieu plays his game on a consistent basis, both are top-4 guys on most teams IMO. Emelin had great games, but the bad ones overshadowed them easily. He's a good 4th-5th guy on most teams but I prefer Beaulieu ahead of him.

Emelin is a 3rd pairing guy. His positioning is not good enough to justify anything else.

He hasn't been the same ever since his knee injury.

Hehe, not sure if you read it already but the Habseyesontheprize.com article that came out last month made me cringe. I don't typically take what they write as money in the bank but I do tend to dig deeper into certain topics they write about. I just don't get how they can say that this was Emelin's best season yet and that the corsi numbers prove it. Common, we all know that Petry could have played along side a cone and those numbers would not have fluctuated that much... I'm not saying Emelin is worthless, but for them to write up a whole article about his great performance shows me that they clearly haven't watched him play. You are bang on with your bad positioning assement.

FWIW, cringe away if you have a minute or 2 to kill

He's awesome going for big hits but never evolved beyond that into a guy that knows how to look after his own end.
