Yeah I know I havent done any game reviews yet.

The Waffles were mid play like the video posted in the ramblings! it is supposed to have something to do with the Leafs needing a better breakfast to get ready to play??

The idiot that threw them out there was escorted out of the arena right away!

Last night though they looked bad again.....

The Monster looked terriable the worst I have seen him this year.

If Grabo reminds you of Berezin and that's our "bright spot" please just shoot me now.

LOL I know its more his style of play and size than his skill level I think that Grabo is much more skilled than the ultimate puck hog Berezin

Grabo is signed for 1 more year at 2.9. I'd LOVE to see Grabs ++ go to Dallas for Richards at the deadline but it's pretty much a pipe dream. Although I do see him playing great in that free range offensive system Crawford has goin!

I too would love to see something like this but we do not have the assets required to get Mr. Richards!!

The Leafs need to do what COL just did (Flash) and look for talented youth that are underperforming so far or are buired in depth on teams.

Guys like Wolski, JVR, Brassard etc.. All teams that could use a guy like Kaberle and we could likely get them + for Kabby just my opinion

With the resignation of Darryl Sutter, our Leafs are even more screwed. Who is Burke going to go to for shopping bargains now?

OK so its been a while but I watched the game last night and the Leafs line up is a joke!!

Now I agree that it was the right move to send Kadri to the minors but when you have Joey Crabb on your top line and he actully looks decent then what?? Ouch!! and Boyce on the 2nd line and he to looked OK, he is just temp as Grabo will be back next game for sure after having his kid.

But the reason why these guys look decent is becuase they come up and are playing hard like they want to stay!! The rest of the team just doesnt have the hustle like they want it! When this is the case there is an obvious move to make and that is a coaching change. The guys for whatever reason are not buying into the Wilson system and are just not playing hard.

I get it! we are the youngest team in the NHL but and we will be inconsistant and will be at the bottom the standings once more but is it too much to ask for some hustle? some heart? Come on guys lets play with some spirit out there.

And Burke its time to cut your buddy Wilson loose and make some deals show us why you have a reputation for building good teams!

    Rant Over.....and I am baaaaack!!!

Reimer looked good in his first full NHL game prior to that he has only seen 14 minutes of playing time and he has looked great so far. Having a very solid year in the AHL he is projected a potential #1 goalie in the NHL. He was drafted 99th overall but the all that I have read on him and what I have heard is that he has the right stuff to make it is a solid starting NHL goalie.

    http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/james_reimer

As for Crabb you cant find him on a list anywhere but he is playing good hockey and again I will say its not becuase he is a great player but that he makes up for it with hustle which is what that line needed and I truley feel is the reason for that lines turn around and Bozak's current turn around.

I dont think that Reimer sticks at all or Crabb stays a top line player but on the Leafs I suppose you never know? Come the new year I think (hope) that Burke will be active in making some moves and hopfully it will be a true top line player!!

Default Leafs Mulling Over a Versteeg Offer

Interesting speculation about Wolski coming to Toronto for Versteeg.

    http://mapleleafshotstove.com/2011/0...ersteeg-offer/

Wolski age 24 6'3" and 210 lbs is struggling this year in Phoenix with only 16 points but he had a 65 point season last year.

Wolski could be a star forward in the point a game range but he might also be a big disappointment. Wolski needs a good set up center to be productive. He did really well playing with Stastny in Colorado and did well with Lombardi last year with Phoneix. This year he has been a big disappointment for Phoenix. If he comes to Toronto he might struggle as the quality set up center he needs is missing. Leafs top line would become Bozak with Kessel and Wolski. Might be good and might be disappointing. It is a gamble but the way things are going with the leafs I think Burke will make the move.

Versteeg 24, 5'10" 182 lbs is on course for a 55 point season this year which would match his best season with Chicago. I think Versteeg still has more upside and could settle in at a 60 to 65 point per season player.
I would hate to see Versteeg go but you have to give up something to get something. My vote says pull the trigger on this one.

    What about James Reimer?

I have been impressed with Reimer for some time. Worried that Burke would move him as he was not a Burke selection. Rynnas and Scrivens are godd prospects but I hope he hangs on to Reimer. Giquere will likely be moved as we approach the trade deadline or if not I doubt he gets resigned by the leafs. If Burke does resign him it should not be for more than about $2M.

Interesting rumour as well that Fredrik Sjostrum might be on the move. I like him as well but he is an expendable role player if he is part of a package for a skilled player.

Fasten your seat belts moves appear to be coming in leaf nation.

I wouldn't do that...Versteeg is way better than Wolski IMO. No way Burke pulls the trigger on that.

As much as I like Versteeg and I do this deal makes sense for the Leafs we need the big centre and he has much higher upside IMO as well the article states that it would be more than that I think that it is what the Leafs need!

I also like Reimer and think that he has a solid career in the NHL and I think that he could be a good push for The Monster and really your right I am sure that Giggy gets moved soon as well but he has to come back and prove health first.

As for Shoey I like him and the role he plays for the team so I think that they have to be carefull to make sure they get back the right value as he has improved our PK and shutdown line which is needed for an NHL team

I am holding out for some deals they need to make changes either with staff or players and if Burke is hell bent to keep Wilson (Not sure why) then he has to make some player changes to the team.
