I would be ecstatic for anything over 50 points. Can't believe I nabbed him in a new 12-team Dynasty league this year in the 15th round.

I would personally be suprised if he got anything over 50 points, but sounds like I am in the minority here. He is playing great right now but he will slow down IMO. That said, even if he were to only get 45-50, thats still very good.

Just an EXCELLENT write up on Letang. Love Mike Colligan's writing:

Two summers ago I traded Ryan Ellis and Logan Coutoure for Letang. Coutoure had a band-aid boy rep at the time, so his blossoming this year has been troubling to me. Ellis....years away, who knows. But with losing Markov and Streit this season, I'm very very happy with this trade. Letang has been my best d-man. Sky's the limit, if he can keep his fingers out of Scott Hartnell's mouth.....

Letang is a STUD and has arrived. Should be mentioned among Keith, Doughty, Lidstrom, Boyle as long as he's a Penguin. Those holding out hope that Goligoski will be the more prolific D in Pittsburgh need to face reality. 60+ is going to be routine for Letang.

Hope you're right. He is one of my favorite NHL player because of his attitude and the way he plays

I think he's a huge talent as a defenseman and plays an excellent two way game. The only problem with guys like that is that they don't always make fantasy studs, its often the Mike Green's of the league that make the big points while guys like Letang are relied on more for their defensive skills because that's what helps the team more. That said, he certainly has every opportunity to become a Doughty or a Keith, especially on the Pens.

To directly answer the question, I think 'yes he is this good' but 'no, he won't keep this pace'. Goli will score more I suspect and Letang will level off a bit...still he could easily post a 60 pt season

Ah the faith in goli is still strong! But wrong. I have said for ages that anyone who watches the pens regularly would clearly be able to see that Letang is the superior dman. And he is (while also being two years younger mind you). The reason he will prove 70% of the dobberrites who voted for the under on 60 pts this year wrong is due primarily to one reason: he is almost always on the ice when Sid is. Watch a few pens games and you will see this, he is essentially Crosby's first option on the attack (when Sid isn't lining up with geno). I don't have time to do it but I think it would be very interesting to see how many of Tangers points were also factored in on by Sid. If I had to guess it would be at least 60%, and luckily for us owners of the Tang this will not change anytime soon... So enjoy your newly minted elite dman.

With Martin (4), Michalek (4), Orpik (3) all signed for a few years past 2010-2011, I don't think Letang will suffer by being relied on solely for his defensive skills

Well after some quick tabulating, I have some numbers for anyone who cares: the last 9 pts Letang has collected Sid was in on all of those goals also! Overall, Sid has factored in on 17 of letangs 27 pts, or 63%. Not taking anything away from goli as he is a great young dman to own, but Letang will simply prove to be better imo, ESPECIALLY in multi-cat leagues.
