Thornton for Carter +

Points-only league, traded players carry their points over.

I've sent a couple of feelers to teams that have a shot this year, saying I'd consider trading Thornton for a younger stud.

One GM has asked if I'd consider a deal structured around Carter.

Even with the age difference, I feel Carter is a pretty significant downgrade from Thornton.

Other players I like on his team include E. Kane, Vanek and Brian Campbell.

I'm thinking of asking for Carter + E. Kane in return for Thornton + O. Jokinen. (He's enquired about Jokinen in the past.) Am I getting enough, asking too much? Is Carter a true PPG player? What do you think is E. Kane's upside?

If anyone has an opinion, I'm still interested in hearing it. Is Kane enough of an upgrade over Jokinen to make up the downgrade from Thornton to Carter? What is Kane's upside, 70?, 90? Can Carter get back to 80-85 points? Can he ever exceed that?

carter was on fire for 2 games there but i think thornton is the better option. its not like he is so old. i would stick with thornton and his proven over a PPG status.

carter will be goal heavy. i see 40 goals but not as many assists.. philly seems to be really spreading out there scoring. only so much can go around.
