Default Should I drop Mark Streit?

    Hey boys and girls,

Looking for some other points of view please.

League details and team in sig, should I drop Mark Streit to make room for Neuvirth?

The crappy thing is that once I bring up Neuvirth from my farm he will no longer be eligible to go back down (20+ NHL games played)

I have put Backstrom(G) on the trade block but I'm thinking I should be keeping him anyway.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

REP will be given, even if you simply post "NO, don't drop him"

    Cheers

hmm I really dont feel that you should drop him, I'd find a way to swing a trade 2 for 1 or something that opens up a slot for you to slide in Neuvirth into the roster. I dont advise dropping Streit in a full dynasty.

Why would that help you anyway - he's in an IR slot, right?

I know you have Gabby who's IR, but in a couple weeks you'll have the same problem.

He has way too much long term worth too drop. Try flipping him for a couple draft picks.

I thought about that too, I was thinking that maybe I could bounce around the IR folks that I have.

The message is clear though, you all do not advise dropping him.

I'll see if anyone bites on that suggestion, however as Instant Karma pointed out, it is only a temp solution as I will have to drop someone else.

i was thinking the same question. i kept him as my 10th keeper over J. Staal, Voracek, and MDZ. Rosters froze before he was injured . Our pool scoring rewards scoring d, especially pp goals and streit is a pp stud. my gut says to keep him. in your case, what is the impact of not being able to send Nuwy back to the farm?

A guy in my (dynasty) league dropped him, and I scooped him in a heartbeat. Totally worth sittin on him 'till he heals, if you have the depth to do so.

Don't do it man. Nothing worse than another GM picking him up and laughing at ya in Feb(and the next few years).

I'm frustrated with the injury as well, but I am sitting on him for the season.

It would mean that he has to stay on my main team so then I would have to drop someone else ... too many damn decisions ...

Cheers to all who posted, apparantly I have given out too much rep in a 24 hr period so the rest of you will have to wait until tomorrow to get your rep.

Are you serious??? You want to drop Mark Streit? The best d on a growing team who is a lock for 45+ points whenever he plays a full season and has allready reached 62.

Allthough i think we won't see another 60 point season from him, he could still easily top 50 points 3 or even 4 times in his career!

No way should you drop a 50-55 point D-man who will return to a 5th ranked PP that is firing at over 26%. As the Isles improve, Streit could easily push 55-60+ and is only 33 with plenty of miles left. Streit has only played in the NHL for five seasons.

Thanks for the feedback fung, apparantly I have given out too much rep again so I can't add to yours at this time.
