Sanford got the start at the last second tonight. Apparently they said on the Canucks post game show that Luongo had a rib contusion.

Curtis Sanford, who won all three of his previous starts for the Canucks, stopped 27 shots. He was a late start because Roberto Luongo sustained an apparent injury during the warmup.

Edit: Update from the HF Canucks board..

To paraphrase: He was injured after getting hit with a shot in Minnesota, and then took one in the same spot vs the Hawks. He says it felt okay for most of the Pittsburgh game, but he was really sore by the end of the game, and he felt like he couldn\'t go tonight.

Sounds like Saturday at the earliest... Expect Sanford to play every game. He has been pretty decent this season, but the Canucks were extremely lazy last night in LA. He is a solid short-term pickup as the team is usually airtight defensively.
