Default #3 Overall... the goat spot

    Hey folks.

Hoping for some excellent advice (as always)...

I have the 3rd overall pick in tonight's keeper draft.

We keep 17 so its a deep league.

All 2010 draftees are eligible and its a salary cap league with positional requirements. Dmen score about 1.5 forwards.

Anyways, I am assuming Hall/Seguin goes 1-2 which leaves me in a REALLY tough spot.

Who should I take? I am looking for someone who will play this year but also has solid upside. Skinner's name is rising but what about Nino, Johannesen, Fowler, Gubradsson (sp?), Tarasenko, ... etc.

Also, some players like OEL, Shattenkirk, M. Backlund, Eller, J Shroeder are also avaialble as well as Bozak (pricey @ 3 mill) and a few other players.

Tough call... hoping for help. Team is in the signature.

I don't really follow what you are saying here....
but I think the best player available in your list OEL. Not sure how the statement above factors in??? Does it make him even more valuable?

If you need a winger, Nino may be your guy.

Sorry for the cinfusion. What I mean is that all of this years draftees (like Hall, Seguin, Nino...) will be available + a handful of others like OEL, Shattenkirk, Eller... etc

So I am torn. Tough spot to be in because I could try and trade down to get a couple extra picks but the league is a tough one for deals.

I am leaning towards Skinner - based on the hype or Nino. I think Nino will be like Rick Nash. He could compliment Tavares nicely. I am afraid OEL will be buried in Phoenix until all those older dmen leave. + Yandle seems to have grasp the PP QB role. I see that situation developing similar to Letang/Goglioski.

    Thoughts?

The part I didn't understand was where it says Dmen are worth 1.5 forwards.....

If Dmen are more valuable then forwards in your league already....I'd be looking for a guy like OEL. He's gonna be real good.

Oops... yeah dmen goals and pp points are worth 1.5 whereas forwards are about 1.

Thanks for the feedback. Karma to you...

I agree OEL is going to be the real deal as for forwards, Skinner and Johannesen are the best bets as Columbus will give him a great chance to start in 11-12
