    Default Another Rank These Prospects

Hey guys. Just wondering if I can get a few opinions on a ranking of these prospects. We'll say 3 years from now as most won't see NHL action this year.

I think the big issue with Nyquist/Tatar is that it's REALLY hard to judge how soon they'll be in the NHL. Talent wise, I like them more than Stepan or Glennie by a LOT.

This. With no time table I'd likely put both at the top.

    Colborne
    Blum
    Stepan
    Smith
    Glennie
    Nyquist
    Tatar

    Forwards, pure talent rating:

    Colburne
    Tatar
    Nyqvist
    Stepan
    Glennie

However when positional requrements are brought into the discussion I'd potentially have Stepan at the bottom of the list as he's a Centre.

If you're looking at timeline the list gets a bit tougher. I don't see Colburne having any kind of meaningful impact in Boston for at least two years. Even then, if he stays at Centre he won't be on a scoring line unless there's a big shakeup in Boston. Stepan could be in a very good position to have a more immediate impact as the Rangers could really use him on a scoring line, hell he could be the first line Centre on that squad in a year (big plus).

Tatar should be in the NHL before Nyqvist and I think he'll surprise people at how soon he'll be seeing NHL minutes. I don't see either of them on a scoring line for a couple of years though.

Glennie could also be in tough to get meaningful minutes in Dallas over the next few years but I don't know enough about him to say if he could fill a 3rd line role or not.

So my ranking based purely on when I think they'll put up meaningful NHL points is:

    Stepan
    Tatar
    Nyqvist/Colburne/Glennie (I think they're all a ways off)

As for the Defense Question....easy....Blum all the way!
