He could very well this year's Marian Hossa. Out till Christmas, comes back and plays around a PPG. Good for a playoff run for fantasy owners.

I'm in a similar situation. I traded Giroux and as 4th on 2011 for Savard and a 5th in 2012. Most of the other GM's in my pool think Savard is done and will never be the same. I disagree.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.

When do u think he will return ??? 3 weeks or so ? a month? 2 months ?
I'm thinking on droping M. Cullen and adding him up to my roster , the only sad part , if I picking him up , I cant put him on the IR ... I have to put him in right away .. So if hes really back in a month .. I dont mind losing 12 games with cullen wich I think he will make around 7pts .. i'm willing to lose around that .... but if savard miss more than another month ... then i'll try to wait

I don't know if it helps, but the common speculation is a late November/early December return barring setbacks. Due to the major setback he suffered returning in the playoffs, I think it's safe to assume they will keep him out a bit longer than necessary to error on the side of caution. I'm hopeful for a December 01st return but would not be surprised at all with a December 15th return, as they have a 3 day break the 12th - 14th. Again, all unsubstantiated speculation, but this is my best guess.
