Proper points league set-up

Hi guys,

I'm looking to start a custom points league, just with my hockey team. Last year pool point set-up was flawed as we only had G,A as cats for players and W,OTL and SO had all the same value (1 pts for each). I just thought we'd try something different this year.

What are your stat categories and what are their values??

I'm asking this because I was wondering how I could make the pool more interesting this year. I have registered a custom league on yahoo! but I can't seperate stats between defenseman and forwards so I had the idea of adding Block shots and Hits to influate the importance of defenseman.

Any input is appreciated!!

we go with the following so that Goalies are a little more even across the board due to shots, we reward players for having a little jam to there game so the pim's help but are not goon-worthy and lastly the great equalizer in our pool is we count +/- at it's full value.

Goals (G) 1
Assists (A) 1
Plus/Minus (+/-) 1
Penalty Minutes (PIM) .2
Goaltenders Stat Category Value
Wins (W) 2
Saves (SV) .02
Shutouts (SHO) 3

Doesn't your set-up give more valu to forwards then defenseman? I like the rest thought (especially the .2 for saves)
