Granlund seems like a good pick to me
But its your choice if you want to go for the home run with Kabanov!
You know the stakes ... its your bet!
I'm on the clock with the #15 pick. The players in my mind here are Granlund, Kabanov and Schwartz, and to a lesser extent Bennett. Do I take the safe pick(s) in Granlund or Schwartz, or the high risk/reward pick in Kabanov? Positionally, I need help everywhere...
Here's the draft so far (my picks bolded)
Taylor Hall (LW - Edm)
Tyler Seguin (C - Bos)
Jeffrey Skinner (C - CAR)
Brett Connolly (LW - TB)
Nino Niederreiter (LW - NYI)
Eric Gudbranson (D - FLA)
Jack Campbell (G - DAL)
Vladimir Tarasenko (RW - STL)
Cam Fowler (D - ANA)
Ryan Johansen (C - CLB)
Alexander Burmistrov (C - ATL)
Evgeny Kuznetsov (RW - WAS)
Brandon Gormley (D - PHX)
Derek Forbort (D - LA)
Granlund seems like a good pick to me

Whoever said, 'It's not whether you win or lose that counts,' probably lost.
LOL - well Kabanov is probably the right pick for your personality then.
I know you drafted him quite early Shoeless...so you must be a gamblin' man.
Is it worth moving up from #26 to draft him?
Oh lord - the million dollar question. If I said I knew, then I would be lying. #15 feels about right to me on him - I took him at 9 and was happy to do so.
My gut instinct is that he is going to be a steal for anyone taking him outside the top 10 from this year's crop. The skill set is there, Orr is his agent - he seems committed to cleaning it up. Those are the things I am looking at - is it a risk? Sure - aren't they all to some degree?
as stated Granlund if you want to go safe, the fact that Minny has very little top end skill in their forward corps means he will get a shot as soon as possible. But the risk/reward is their Kabanov. However with the way guys are going to the KHL i would personally side with Granlund he has some sick passing ability.
Picks outside of the top 10 are tailor made for swinging for the fences. You've already made your safe picks earlier in the draft, now it's time to knock one out of the park. Kabanov all the way!
Minny sucks at Developing their kids.
Take Kabanov. It's the perfect spot to gamble in - 15th
BROADWAYBLUE94 SELECTS from the NEW YORK ISLANDERS Kiril Kabanov
Might seem like a bit of a reach, but I might be thinking of Sheahan. But otherwise, I'd probably take Schwartz.
I guess all 30 NHL GMs are dumb then. Otherwise atleast one of them (If they thought he had any hope of being a top 10 player) wouldnt taken a chance on kabonov much sooner.
Yet Coaches, players, scouts etc have nothing good to say about this kids attitude. Plain and simple he's a bad apple. Do not believe the hype!!!!
Their are other better and much safer picks here.
Exactly what I'm afraid of - but ... I would say that NHL GMs are, for the most part, dumb.
I think I've decided to forget the trade that would have gotten me the 15th. It would have cost me the 26th, 40th and Enroth. I'd rather take two iffy prospects than one and keep Enroth. Thanks for chiming in though!
Wow, I"d never do that deal. 26th and 40th are great picks, as logn as you know who to draft.
That's a poor argument. Every year, for whatever reason, NHL GMs let exceptional talent slip past them only to watch them become stars somewhere else. If I allowed my picks in fantasy hockey to be predicated by what NHL GMs do at the draft table I'd finish dead last in all my leagues with a bunch of Hugh Jessiman's on my team.
