[QUOTE=donions;483830]I hate when people say Price cant handle pressure, he's won a lot more big games in his young career then most goalies win in there entire career;
World Junior gold medal game; the famous 10round shootout semi final Can-USA game; AHL playoff MVP; Shutout in game 7 vs Boston.
That said the pressure cooker that is being a MTL goalie is unlike anything else in Hockey, and Price has struggled at times, but so has every goalie in Mtl since Roy, and Theodore for a couple seasons, and Halak for 3months.QUOTE]
Yeah, that's the thing, I agree with you that he was unbelievably solid until he joined the Habs, and even during his rookie season with the Habs. But there is no disputing that the pressure did get to him during the Flyers conference semfinal series in 2007/8 and even to some extent in the Boston series before that. I think that shocked him as much as anyone else because after that he clearly was affected mentally - witness the almost breaking down in tears after that bad game against the Leafs last year and the stupid decision to fire pucks at the Caps and slash Backstrom after Game 4 this year. I think back to that AllStar game appearance in 2009 when he had just come off injury and got shelled for 8 goals in the junior stars game and then let in a few more in the regular stars game; befor ethe injury he was on fire, but after the allstar game he was never the same except for a few brief stints here and there.
Anyway, I do think he's strong enough to get through this and hopefully will look back on this as simply a necessary part of learning how to become a starting NHL goalie in the most pressure-packed hockey market out there.
