Just off the cuff. I didn't ponder my selections for too long. Love the question though. Perhaps I'll take a second stab at it after seeing some other projections. Someone might sway me.
PS: I'm also interested because I own 5 of these guys. Hodgson, MPS, Filatov, Karlsson, Seguin.

    No MPS?
Also I see that you have Filatov as never passing the puck. Too funny.

Sorry didnt see MPS. 20g 40ish points.

And you took the easy way out with Seguin!! I also dont think he will play into his contract, but i was basing it on 70+ games lol.

I also think Eller and Hodgson will bounce between the NHL and AHL.

And yes, I think 66% of Filatov's points will be goals. Which is nuts. But hey, thats what predictions are for.

I think that most people rank rookie points on the high side not realizing how tough it is to play meaningful minutes as a first year NHLer. Ennis and Filatov have already had a taste of the show and have shown that they can produce so I would say that they will likely finish 1 - 2 in rookie scoring. The Oiler prospects are tough because they are such a low scoring team, but if one of them skates with Penner and Hemsky next year their numbers will increase dramatically. I also based these numbers on the amount of games that I suspect each player would get in the 2010/2011 season...

    MPS 11 goals 35 pts
    Eberle 11 goals 30 pts
    Eller 9 goals 30 pts
    Subban 10 goals 35 pts
    Hodgson 12 goals 25 pts
    Bowman 5 goals 18 pts
    McBain 8 goals 20 pts
    Filatov 25 goals 55 pts
    Ennis 21 goals 60 pts
    Hall 12 goals 38 pts
    Seguin 2 goals 5 pts
    Shattenkirk 6 goals 18 pts
    Karlsson 5 goals 25pts

I have to agree with you on this point. I definitely attempted to keep the rookie projections realistic and based on the number of games they played IF they play.

I doubt MPS sees a full season so he'll likely end up with less than 20 points or none at all.

I have to agree with Filatov and Ennis finishing 1-2 but Hall will be up there too (if drafted by EDM). I really think subban and karlsson will put up decent numbers though as they will play pivotal roles for their NHL clubs (especially Karlsson). Both should clear 25 points and likely be in the mid 30 range.

I know i am missing some other rookies that could contend for the Calder (no goalies).

Kadri, Wilson, Tangradi should be considered too.

A little surprised that Karlsson isn't a bit higher on your projection. He had 5 goals and 26 pts last year. I think next year he will be given more time on the PP. Other than that your picks look good.
I would be surprised to see Ennis top 60 pts though.

I have noticed this on a few other posts as well. Please remember that Filatov will not be a rookie (eligable for the Calder Trophy) because he has played in 8 and 14 games in the past two seasons. Rookie rule is posted below. Alex Pietrangelo is in the same boat.

    Rookie Qualifications
To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in 25 or more NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons. Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie.

Spoken like a true Karlsson owner!

Karlsson will be close to 40 points.

McBain 20 pts? he got 10 in 14 games to finish the year. I do agree with you that most of us expect to much to soon from prospects, but I think you underestimate them just a tad to much.

Thanks for the outline of the Calder requirements. This thread isn't meant to be for just Calder candidates but all players just breaking into the league. It definitely sucks that Filatov won't be calder worthy - especially if he posts great numbers.

By your definition, does that mean Backlund is Calder eligible?

Yeah, Karlsson scored 26 points while sleep walking through the first 3/4 of the season. He finished strong at a PPG clip. If Karlsson is healthy, he is a lock for 35-45+ points.
