Why would you want to see Malkin or Crosby go off on a stretcher?

I think that's something that most fans of hockey in general can agree upon

    sadly that's mostly true...
Gill and Gorges have been incredible so far, and Subban has played very well but Markov is the rock on which that whole D is built. Thats like the Wings losing Lidstrom or Philly losing Pronger, its a huge blow. I really hope he can come back but he looked in pain on that play

sad thing is, if cooke wasnt suspended on the savard hit, he wont be for this one. i'd say this hit wasnt even that dirty, in fact id probably say it was clean. markov saw cooke, so it wasn't a blindside hit. markov even tried to hit cooke, but cooke just got the better of him, and markov landed awkwardly. congrats to the habs for taking out the caps, but i think their toast this series.

oh that hit on Markov wasn't dirty I don't think Praba...looked like a good hard bodycheck to me, just regrettable that Markov got hurt on it. I just can't stand Cooke in general, his MO is hurting people so I'm eagerly awaiting the day someone returns the favor in dramatic fashion

Actually, if I felt the Pens actually earned the Cup, I would have no problem with it. Just like I had no problem with Crosby scoring the GWG for Canada in the Olympics.

I am actually starting to come around on Crosby, because he is an awesome player and I respect his will to succeed ... but, Malkin is a hybrid of Shrek and Sloth from Goonies and I hate him.

I also hate the rest of the Pens (minus Gonchar and Fleury). The fact that Bettman creams his pants everytime they win makes me sick. And I am sick of the ice always being tilted in the Pens favor.

On top of that, Matt Cooke should seriously be maimed. Him and Kunitz both. I just hope they are both taking a dump inside the Igloo when it is imploded.

Staal out with severed achilles tendon. Ouch!
Still think this is a short series for Pitt but this could really hurt the Pens chances at repeating.

Not as first reported. Could even make a return. Top of the foot according to the latest report. Huge for the Pens needless to say.

on the bright side, if the pens manage to win without staal, it opens the door to a staal/kaberle deal...

Keep dreaming. It ain't ever happening, buddy.

This is tough loss for Pens. Hopefully we'll get Staal back sooner than later but in the mean time Malkin seriously needs to get his A-game rolling.

Default Halak to start Game 2

    Via Elliotte Friedman on Twitter.

So when Halak gets lit up again today will Martin go back to Price for Game 3 in Montreal? Halak seems to have more success in games where he faces a high volume of shots; Pittsburgh doesn't need 30+ shots to win. Plus, Price had better numbers against Pittsburgh in the regular season. How short is Halak's leash right now?

Do you guys think the Habs can adjust and bounce back in this one to play a close game? Certainly in the back of their heads they're thinking how they can't go back to MTL down 2 games to the defending champs so this would be the game to draw a line in the sand
