the trade is dealing with Brayden Schenn not luke schenn. but still not a good deal.

And I think 50 for L. Schenn is insanely high. 40 tops as max upside in a perfect season that will never happen.

Ovechkin deal OFF. Thanks for your much appreciated input.

However now, I've been discussing a bigger deal to acquire Crosby.

    I GIVE
    Semin
    Stastny
    Green

    I GET
    Crosby

Other team is scared of the changes upcoming in Washington and I would likely have to add an extra piece.

What do you think, should i do anything to have Crosby-Ovechkin or keep Green and the rest ?

We are changing positions requirements this year

    NOW: 9F + 3D + 1G
    NEXT YEAR : 12F + 4D + 2G

You have to keep between 6 and 8 (your personnal choice) with at least ONE D.
If you keep less than 8, you pick for a pre-draft to fill your spots so all teams start the real draft with 8.

    KEEPERS NOW
Ovechkin, Semin, Stastny, Hossa, Savard, Plekanec, Green and Bryzgalov

    KEEPERS AFTER A POSSIBLE DEAL
Ovechkin, Crosby, Hossa, Savard, Plekanec, Frolik, Goligoski and Bryzgalov

Crosby is gold, but I would pass on that trade. Green is still the mack daddy of fantasy D-men and Stastny and Semin are upper echelon forwards. Pass on Sid the Kid at this price tag. Remove one of Semin/Stastny, then yes.

Edit: Also, if this is a H2H league, you are losing way too much depth. If Crosby has an off week or less games during crunch time, your depth is shot. Making up for (2) 75-85 pt. forwards and a 75-80 pt. defenseman is not going to happen.

What would you do with my lineup ?
Not sure if i should stay the course or try to pick players that had bad years (i.e Getzlaf) or upcomers (Ryan)

I would definitely look into players who had down years: Getzlaf, Spezza, Vanek, Markov, etc. Youngins like Ryan, Duchene, Karlsson, Myers and Carlson should be coveted big time.

I would not be opposed to dealing Semin and/or Stastny but you need to get value in return. Packaging 3 studs for Crosby is not a deal I would make.

You have to give up something real good to land Crosby (or Ovechkin, for that matter). Unlike the other deal where you were giving up two good players, plus a pick, plus Ovechkin to get three good players, this deal makes more sense. The person giving up Crosby is *only* giving up Crosby and getting three good players in return. I'm not saying this is a landslide victory for either team. In fact, I think it might favor the person getting Green and company, but if you want to acquire Crosby (or Ovechkin) you have to overpay a little bit.

Now, if I were you, would I do this deal? I like Green a lot and in a league that counts points for dmen (and only points), Green is possibly more valuable than Crosby. I say that because the difference between Crosby and someone like Getzlaf or Thornton (just picking two other random second tier forwards) is a lot smaller than the difference between Green and pretty much any other dman in the league, including Keith who I just don't see repeating his numbers next year. So, long answer is I wouldn't do this deal if I were you. I can see why the other guy wants to do this deal though. And if you ever decide to put Ovechkin back on the trade block, this is the sort of return you should be looking for as well.

    Cheers,

    jp,

This puts it in a different perspective because of limited keepers, something I overlooked (brain fart). Still, losing Green hurts, ugh. Based on ^ we are looking at:

    Crosby >>> Semin

    Frolik < Stastny

    Goligoski <<< Green

Not awful at all actually, but Green is the X-factor. Do you think he would take: Semin, Stastny and choice of Goligoski/Phaneuf for Sid? Add a decent pick as sugar to sweeten the deal if needed.

If not, on a separate note, I would look into moving Phaneuf to someone who still believes in him. Losing a talent like Dion for nothing hurts, I think he is an asset that can be used.

Also, if reaching for the Crosby stars is too high, how about Nicklas Backstrom (C) as a Plan B? An Ovie/Backstrom hook-up would be cha-ching!

I guess it depends on the extra piece but I would do this deal - basically you get Crosby, Frolik and Goligoski for Semin, Stastny and Green. - limited keeper and this is a good deal for you.

I think anytime you can get Crosby is a good deal. Having him and Ovechkin in a limited keeper league should automatically push you to the top with just that.

What does your draft look like and how can you restock down the road if you were to lose Green?

BTW... Green could see a decrease in production with the emergence of Carlson...
