    Default Larsson vs. Lehner

Larsson, Lehner, Hackett, Janus, Larsson all available in my league. I am looking to pick up a G to stash on my farm team and looking for the highest possible upside. G stats make up 1/3 of our league's scoring, so G's are pretty valuable.

I have tried to pry Salak and Greiss from their respective owners but no luck (#1-5 on the list already owned). Is it so simple as to assume the higher the placement on the list, the higher the long-term upside? Greiss>Lehner>Larsson?

Also, is Larsson the next in line if Howard falters?

Default sorry, I meant to say I was referring to Justin's

    Dobber's rankings do the trick.

Yes, I like Larsson the best.

I tend to think one needs to select goaltenders very carefully. Is Tokarski gone? I (foolishly) like him better than any of the guys listed. Over achiever is doing nicely once again!

See, and from what I've read on Justin's site and his Top 100 List Lehner could be, in Jusin's opinion, a better long-term prospect.

I just want someone to tell me which G to pick since my past record/history in terms of G selections is absolutely atrocious...

Larsson is further along in his progression but really struggling with inconsistency this season.

Lehner is much younger, has much more upside and has a great path to take over the nets in Ottawa in 3-4 more years. Larsson is considered the better goalie right now, but he's not doing what it takes to make it to the next level. That could change over the summer if Osgood retires (sad day) or Howard loses the job somehow.

So it depends on what you're looking for. Lehner is in the Top-10 in my Fantasy Keeper Rankings because he's a long-term keeper and highly touted.

If you read the interview I did with Silver Sevens (see other thread from today) then you will get some more good scouting notes and insight on Lehner.

If I were you, I'd easily take Lehner.

But yes, Larsson is next in line to try and be a #1 in Detroit if or and when Howard falters LOL.

I did read your assessment on the Sens site and appreciate your time in answering my question as well.

Those were my thoughts too as I thought Lehner had the higher long-term upside of the two. I just don't trust Howard....

Thanks Justin, just wish the trading deadline in my league hadn't already passed.
