    Default TB goalies -any predicitons?

Niity or Smith for the rest of the season. Who would you rather have?

or Do you think TB's new ownership will make a move for a goalie before the deadline?

I don't think they'll do anything with the goalie situation until the off-season.

As for now, I think they'll ride the hot one which for now is Niittymaki. I could even see a platoon at worst but I'd say to be conservative it'll be 60-40 for Niitty but most likely around 75-25 for Niitty. . . as long as he's playing ok.

Disclaimer: This is just my guesstimation.

    Default Oshie for Niity

I own Smith but may need to pick up Niitty to shore up my goaltending.

I may have to trade Oshie to do it as well.

    Do it or hold off?

Is in a keeper I'd hold on to Oshie cause I don't know what Niitty will do after this year. In a 1 year, I'd do an Oshie for Niitty for the hand cuff.

Unfortunately it's a keeper but 1st place is $700.00 - which I am barely holding on to.

(goaltending is my weakness right now)

Ouch, $700 is damn nice and I'm assuming Niitty is the best one out there. Listen, in this case I'm not sure if I'm the right guy to ask cause I'd do that in a second if it gives you a shot at first and worry about getting another Oshie later. But maybe other people might know a bit more and say to keep Oshie and ride Smith.

    Trade Oshie for Nitty

$700 is too much to risk IMO, and I only peg Oshie to be a 70 ish point player in about 3-4 years (Damn good, but not irreplacible)

I think Nitty will get the bulk of the starts down the stretch, the 60/40 split estimated in an earlier post sounds about right to me as well.

Regardless, you have to look at the possibilities here. If Smith gets hurt, Nitty gets all the starts and your screwed. If Smith plays like crap his next few starts, Nitty will likely get the full time nod, and your screwed.

Basically by not doing the trade, your commiting your season to 3 things:

    (1.) Smith gets the starts
    (2.) Smith plays well
    (3.) Smith doesn't get hurt

And I feel its too risky to put your season on a guy who has been shaky and has had concussion problems.

    Hope I helped

    Thanks Trahey. It did help.

I was just hung up on Oshie's potential but money is more important!

I would rather come in 2nd get no money than to trade Oshie for career backup goalie!!!!!

Oshie has 15 pts in his last 17 games or something like that anyways.

17 games is more than a hot streak!

Take into account last year being his rookie year when he posted 14 points in 13 games between March 14th and April 7.

Wait till he finds some consitency and you can expect 75+ points as early as 2012.
