Help me do the math - Re: Projected starts
I'm in a one year points league. We have 200 games allowed for goalies. As it stands, I have used up 165 starts, and currently "projected" at +7 games.
Therefore, I have 35 games left for this season.
I have the following goalies: Brodeur, Miller, C.Mason, Elliott/Leclaire
Each team has approx 20-25? games left. After the olympics, I assume Miller and Brodeur will get a few more games rest (but how many??)
Would it be safe to assume my big two will play 15 games each? Either way, my other goalies should be able to pick up the slack right?
Should I be looking to trade Mason for a forward? Should I drop one of Elliott or Leclaire for a forward as well?
Someone tell me if I'm doing the math right, and that I should drop a goalie now rather than later to maximize my starts with Miller and Brodeur?
If this is correct - who should I trade away? With the way our points work, both Miller and Brodeur have about 420 points, and Mason and Elliott have 250 (Leclaire 130). As opposed to forwards, Ovechkin has 260, Malkin 150 .. etc. Is it comparable to trade goalies point for point for a forward? (ie. how much is Mason really worth, or even dangling Miller and Brodeur for a top 10 forward or even Ovy!)
Thanks for the long read guys, your help is appreciated!
