    Default Osgood's future

I'm not a contender this season. So I'm slowly rebuilding my gaolie squad (keeper league - look at sig), trying to notch the best G prospects as the become available. So a question pops up in my mind : what do I do if Bernier, Markstrom or Schneider become available in my league ? Do I pull the trigger and pick one of them, releasing Osgood ?

So the simple question is, what will Osgood do next season ? At 37, his best years are behind him. Any rumor of retirement ? He won't be more that Howard's backup, right ?

    Thanks.

Consider carefully what the punishment is when moving veterans.

Brodeur - three more 100 point seasons? four? five?

Osgood - upside is 70 points (2 pt wins, 3 pt SO), down side is there is nothing left in the tank and he gets bought out.

Then consider the puppies you're contemplating.

Personally, my fears surrounding releasing Osgood aren't overly substantial. (I have him and Howard in one pool)

I have no fear that he goes somewhere else and suddenly becomes an impact guy.

Yeah I think Osgood is at best a backup goalie next season, Howard's definitely the starter going forward unless something ridiculous happens.

I would definitely pick up any of those guys, all of them have a shot at playing in the NHL next year. Schneider has the best shot as he's a RFA and is probably going to be on another team where he'll get some starts if not a share of the starting job.
