Some coworkers an I are looking to form a league of our own. Depending of how many GMs you are looking for maybe we could join. I will send you a private message to discuss it further.
Today I'd like to present you the different types of player attributes evolution:
PLAYERS ATTRIBUTES EVOLUTION
With WebSimHockey, the players have attributes that represent the type of player they are. Those attributes are generated using the last 2 NHL season.
Those attributes are not static. They constantly evolve throughout the seasons.
There are two types of players attributes evolution:
WEBSIM EVOLUTION
- The players attributes are re-evaluated twice a year: at mid-season and at the end of the season.
- The Simulator calculates the player evolution using the following criterias: age, investment in player development and luck.
- The player evolution does not take into account the player's performances in the NHL or in WebSimHockey.
That mode allow you to have a better control on your team because it is possible to determine in advance how good your player will be in the future. The "Potential" attribute represents the player's value at the age of 30 years old.
With this mode, you do not need to follow the NHL activities to have success in your league.
NHL EVOLUTION
- The players attributes are re-evaluated once a year, at the end of the season.
- The players attributes evolution is based on the NHL player's performances only.
- At the end of the WebSimHockey season, the players attributes are updated using the last completed NHL season.
- Any league using this mode will need to wait the end of the current NHL season before being able to continue with their next season.
This mode adds an edge to the game because the GMs need to know the exact value of the players in the NHL. The evolution is unpredictable but can be very rewarding if you know the game very well.
You will need to follow the NHL activities carefully to make sure your players are performing well. It will be your duty to take tough decisions if a player is underachieving.
PLAYERS ATTRIBUTES
The players attributes are the following:
DU: Durability
STA: Stamina
DI: Discipline
ST: Strength
IT: Intensity
SP: Speed
SH: Stick handling
HS: Hockey Sense
FO: Face off
PA: Passing
SHO: Shooting
LD: Leadership
EX: Experience
DEF: Defense
PO: Potential
AVG: Average
*The players attributes are automatically generated using complex formulas. There is no human manipulation to them.
Since everyone has different availability, there are two different leagues startup modes.
LEAGUES STARTUP MODES
The start of a league may sound impressive to many users, partly because not everyone have the same amount of time to invest in the game.
In order to maximize the WebSimHockey experience, we splitted the public leagues in two distinct startup modes: Regular and Fast.
REGULAR MODE
The regular mode is designed for those who have less time to devote to the game, such as between 5 to 10 minutes per day.
- The first step, Cities Draft, will take between 5 to 7 days.
- The second step, Players Draft, will take between 4 and 5 weeks.
Users who register in this startup mode should not put pressure on the GMs who have access to a computer once a day.
However, the league commissionner can still take control of a team that takes too long to make his selection, provided that the rule was clearly established before starting the draft.
FAST MODE
The fast mode is designed for those who have access to a computer very regularly and can thus continuously follow the activities of the league.
- The first step, Cities Draft, will take between 2 to 3 days
- The second step, Players Draft, will take between 2 and 3 weeks.
Users who register in this startup mode are aware that the commissionner may draft for them to advance the league faster. High availability is also required, day after day, until the end of the entry draft.
Despite the fast mode, the commissionner must establish clear rules before the draft begins.
All new GMs who register to WebSimHockey have access to a FREE Demo league. You will see the internal website with all functions of a regular league before making a payment to play in a real league.
All you have to do is register to a league and before paying your subscription, simply click on the link "see the DEMO league" which will be available once you are connected with your username and password.
You will have 15 days to try the various functions of the site and take a decision whether or not you wish to participate in a full WebSimHockey League!
The PEHL (Premier English Hockey League) has finally seen the day.
The Cities draft went very well and was completed in only 3 days! The players draft followed right after. The GMs decided to go with a schedule that allows them to draft one player per day (1 round).
Here are the top 5 players who were selected:
1. Roberto Luongo
2. Mike Richards
3. Zdeno Chara
4. Rick Nash
5. Alexander Ovechkin
Who will go first in YOUR league?
Who will be YOUR first pick?
Register today in the second English league to find out. Already 13 people have join in and the league is expected to start within 7-10 days maximum.
